To me Gourcuff can replace both Seedorf and Kaka, so he should get some playing time even if he isn't in the "best 11". Hopefully the coach will give him some faith

Gourcuff has signed a new contract which will keep him at Milan until 2012.

I am glad about this extension, proof that Milan are sticking by him, so suck on that Domenech. Gourcuff now becomes the player with the longest contract at Milan. no one else has it up until 2012. Welcome to teh family Gouri

more on our french starlet's extension

Gourcuff extends San Siro stay
Tuesday 10 July 2007
e-mailPrint
French prodigy Yoann Gourcuff is a happy man today after committing his future to AC Milan until summer 2012 with a one-year contract extension.
Impressive season
The 20-year-old was originally given a deal until 2011 when signing for the Rossoneri just over a year ago from Stade Rennais FC in his homeland. However, he impressed enough in his 21 league starts and eight UEFA Champions League appearances, with a goal in each competition, to have Milan ready to renegotiate his terms. Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti particularly has high hopes for the Under-21 international. "Next season we will have to make more of a promising player like Gourcuff," he said when asked whether the European champions would be recruiting new midfielders.

Gourcuff is very talented, good young player.
Good decision by Milan's board on extending his contract.

There has been an "AC MILAN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT" on acmilan.com too, so this is 100% for real. Good decision by Milan, I agree.

BUON COMPLEANNO GOURI
Gourcuff celebrates his 21st Birthday, and since this number is usually such a special event all over the World. some pics of Gourcuff's season wil be shown here
Gourcuff's first day at Milanello. He was one of the new players to model the new shirt.
Gourcuff's Milan debut that ended in him scoring on his Milan and Champiosn Leaguedebut. We new instantly a star was to be born.
Gourcuff bonded instantly with his teammates:
Cafu and Gouri
Kaka and Gouri
Gourcuff's first Serie A goal, came on Billy's farewell
And for the players that were playing their frst season at Milan, it was one to remember with some highs and lows. But nothing gets better than winning the C.L
Grazie Gourcuff, at times he was a breathe of fresh air when Milan were down in the dumps, but he too helped contribute to Milan's turnaroudn in the season and to Gila's turnaround.

Gourcuff accepts Milan role Sunday 21 October, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yoann Gourcuff was dubbed the ‘little Zidane’ when he joined Milan, but insists he’ll reject an offer from Lens despite his rough patch.
The young Frenchman has struggled to make his mark at San Siro, making only a handful of appearances since last summer’s arrival.
“The problem is I had to settle in to a new style of life,” explained the French starlet who turned down a loan move to Lens this week.
“It is not true that I have lost my place in the France side. The Coach called me after Glasgow and explained that mentally and physically I wasn’t ready for the Under-21 side at that time. I understood and was able to stay at home, see my family and friends.
“Milan are not slowing down my career and I am happy where I am. I’m working to become an important player for France and Milan, it doesn’t matter when. I know that I am on the right track.”
Still only 21 years old, Gourcuff made 21 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri last season, but so far has only played three games, two of which as a substitute.
“I have improved tactically and physically from a year ago, but I lost confidence. I take fewer risks when I play, as I am afraid to get it wrong. When I arrived I did what I wanted do, but now the Coach and squad are asking me to play more simple football. I try to do it, but lose a bit of creativity.
“I realise these are important steps to my growth as a player. When someone doesn’t play very much, it isn’t easy to regain confidence, but I am not complaining.”
The ‘petit Zidane’ tag is no longer applied to the former Rennes midfielder, but he does not mind.
“That was so long ago. I never considered myself like Zidane, I just work hard and expect progress. I am Yoann Gourcuff and am still young.”
Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti also pointed out the reason for this long time spent on the bench.
“Gourcuff’s only problem is that he has some of the best midfielders in the world ahead of him at this club. He would be a first team player at any other Serie A side, but his time will come.”

He'll get his chance eventually, he just needs to be patient.

Gourcuff denies Milan exit Friday 26 October, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milan’s midfield starlet Yoann Gourcuff insists that he will stay at the San Siro and fight for a place instead of leaving in January.
The 21-year-old has been dubbed the heir to Zinedine Zidane, but he has struggled to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s side since arriving last summer.
It had been suggested that the French youth international may go on loan to earn some first-team football, but he is determined that he is staying put.
“I’m sure that I won’t be leaving in January,” Gourcuff declared. “I will think about my future at the end of the season if I’m still not playing.”
Gourcuff is likely to be handed a seat on the bench for the Rossoneri’s crunch match against Roma on Saturday.

It's being rumoured that Arsenal are set to offer £15m for Gourcuff.

He turned down arsenal to go to Milan. He knows how tough it is to get a strating line-up but I think he might get a better chance in Jaoan. He plays more towards the end of the season. when Carlo rests the first team. I rather he goes on loan than leaves. I like Gourcuff and I hate to see him wasted like this but I still feel that he can make it at Milan

I would be the happiest in the world if he moves to Arsenal !!
Milan harmed "the next Zidane" I had a lot of faith in him but his form, and AC's form recently made me change my mind . . .
It will really be a loss of a talent if he doesn't move to Arsenal !! Wenger is the man to make him the best . .
