I don't think Milan is going to move this kid any time soon.

This is tribalfootball... but I sure hope he doesn't leave. We do need him, and most time she has played he has changed the game for Milan! If he MUST leave I prefer it to be a loan and then we can have him back. But I would really like him to stay.

Well given your lack of options in midfield (and especially when it comes to Kaka) it would probably be best if he stayed.
He still needs more playing time in my opinion.

Yeah exactly! I feel he also does need more playing but Ancelotti is very stubborn and keeps on playing Seedorf even when he is playing crap (which in recent times is most times) and when kaka is tired.
He never rests Kaka and the poor guy is growing tired at late as he is never subbed or rested.

The only reason I can think of to give him up now would be if we're bringing in several new mids who are already proven players-- but as Aladino said, if he MUST leave, I too would rather he's loaned than sold. I find Gourcuff to be slightly overrated, but he's still a great player with what looks like a great future ahead of him, and I'd hate to see us get rid of him before we've given him a proper chance. And so far, we haven't.
I agree with you both, he really needs to be played more-- Seedorf has moments of brilliance (albeit among other moments of frustratingly poor play) and I have no problem with him still getting playing time, but Gourcuff should certainly not be completely shut out in favor of Seedorf (which is what Carlo's been doing lately).

I feel the same way about Seedorf, sometimes he plays great but then other times he just looks average.
He's lucky because he's one of Ancelotti's favourites, just like Dida it seems.....

Gourcuff: I'm better for AC Milan move
tribalfooball.com - March 30, 2007
Yoann Gourcuff is happy with his first season with AC Milan and is confident of playing a major role in the season run-in.
The France U21 international said: "I've improved technically, physically and tactically, and also mentally. It's normal to improve when you play with great players like Kaka or Clarence Seedorf.
"Now important games are coming up for us, we have a need for all the players because there'll be a game every three days and physically it will not be easy. I hope we can do well in the Champions League."

I found a great article on Gourcuff:
Quote:
Yoann Gourcuff: A Profile
Anthony Dosanjh profiles AC Milan starlet Yoann Gourcuff for Goal.com.
zoom - galleria Yoann is talented and intelligent. With young players like this, Milan can begin a new era.
- Kaka
Yoann was born in Ploemeur, Brittany on July 11 1986, and he represented his local club FC Lorient (managed by his father, Christian), at youth level. However, it was clear very soon that his career had nothing to do with his father being the coach, and in 2003 he signed his first contract with French side Rennes.
The following year, he made his Ligue 1 debut against AJ Auxerre, and thanks to some quality performances, quickly established himself in the senior team, playing in nearly every match since.
In the 2005/06 season, Yoann played 36 games and netted 6 times, which helped Rennes finish 7th in Ligue 1 and also claim a spot in the Intertoto Cup. Yoann was also an integral member of the France side that won the 2005 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, scoring a hat-trick in a group game against Norway.
That, more than anything else, attracted Europe's big clubs' attentions. Suddenly, his maturity at the age of 18 and his remarkable vision were the talk of the scouting circles.
Olympique Lyonnais, Arsenal and Ajax were chasing him, with the Gunners supposedly having the lead due to the French connection, so to speak. However, that changed when AC Milan came calling with an offer, and a five year deal was quickly brokered that saw Rennes pocket 3 million euros.
That was the beginning of a new stage, and he couldn’t have dreamt of a better Champions League debut as he scored with a superb header and chipped in with an assist against AEK Athens in Milan’s group stage opener. In scoring on his debut, Yoann joined Milan legends such as George Weah and Andriy Shevchenko, which may be an indication of great things to come. He is one of France's most exciting up and coming talents and he is a midfielder who can play in a variety of roles.
After a memorable start, he picked up an unfortunate injury, being ruled out for almost two months with a fractured rib. Since, Yoann has indicated that doesn’t just want to stay and do well, but that he hopes to write his page in Milan’s history books.
At such a young age Yoann already has the class that all time greats have possessed. Of course, he will mature with age, but he is already being compared to great players past and present such as Zidane and Kaka, as much due to his height and build as due to his style and movements.
Although many consider him to be Zidane's heir, the young midfielder himself thinks of himself as being more similar to his Milan team mate Kaka, than his French idol.
Yoann can contribute to Milan what most other midfielders can't – a naturally attacking angle. He can prove to be an able substitute for Kaka during the course of a tough next season, and also complement him on the pitch when they choose to have to attacking mid-fielders on the pitch.
The young midfielder may not have had the greatest of seasons, but he has had a good one. He may not have played as much as expected this time around, but we can be positive that that next season, the world will see more from the new Milan sensation.

Very nice article. However, I suspect Seedorf has now decreased Gourcuff's chances for a regular place on the team-- and not without reason, considering Seedorf's recent incredible form.
Gourcuff looks to have a nice future ahead of him, and would benefit from getting more play than he currently does... but at this point, I sure wouldn't start him ahead of Seedorf in the "important" games.
