MD3:Sampdoria vs Milan
This should be a good match, and we could potentially see Vieri's return to Serie A.
Quote:
Milan visit the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Week 3 to take on one of last season’s surprise packages. Though Sampdoria aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, nobody can deny that Walter Novellino’s side are one of the most effective in the League. The visit of the Rossoneri will represent their first major test of the season and it will be interesting to see how Milan’s attacking excellence gets on against a solid unit.
The match also represents an opportunity for several of Samp’s summer signings to show what they can do against Milan. After all, Sam Dalla Bona, Marco Borriello and Ignazio Abate are all owned by the San Siro outfit, although only Dalla Bona is likely to be in the starting eleven. ‘Keeper Francesco Antonioli and Coach Novellino are also both former Rossoneri players.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side head into the contest on the back of a resounding Champions League win over Fenerbahce. That match represented a return to his brilliant best for Kakŕ, and the Brazilian talent will be looking to take that form with him to Genoa. Alberto Gilardino, axed for the midweek game, is likely to return in place of Christian Vieri to partner Andriy Shevchenko in attack.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sampdoria (probable): Antonioli; C Zenoni, Castellini, Sala, Pisano; Diana, Palombo, Volpi, Tonetto; Bonazzoli, Flachi
Milan (probable): Dida; Cafu, Stam, Maldini, Kaladze; Ambrosini, Pirlo, Serginho; Kakŕ; Gilardino, Shevchenko

Doria kicked Milan a$$ 2-1 at Genoa.
Milan lost and is 10th in the standing after 3 rounds. Sheer disappointment for rossoneri, 5 points lagging behind of Juve at such early stages...

still to early to jump to conclusions, but if this season turns out like last season than every loss and tie is a huge blow

Sampdoria away is not an easy tie, so its hard to judge.
Juve have had the easiest schedule of the big clubs.

This game could be the begining of the end for Ancelotti in my opinion. Though not the deciding factor for the season, and extremely early, this lose shows that Serie A at the top anyways will be tight, and the top 6 or 7 teams are very competitive, and that there won't be any games.

Ancelotti is untouchable at the moment. He has brought us the golden era and with him at the helm we have won the serie a, champions league and coppa Italia. I feel we could have won much more but were very unlucky.
The only thing that I blame him was not rotating players last season but it looks like he has learnt his lesson so he has my full support.
