Milan have denied reports suggesting that Jaap Stam is looking for a January return to Holland.

Whispers in the peninsula this week claimed that the Dutchman wanted to head back to his homeland immediately, rather than wait until the summer.

However, the Rossoneri have today underlined that the former Manchester United and Lazio man is going nowhere.

"It is not true that he wants to go back to the Netherlands," Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani noted.

"I don’t know who started this rumour. We’ll talk about it again at the end of the current campaign."

The San Siro giants have struggled defensively this term and have subsequently been linked with a host of possible transfer targets.

Nevertheless, Galliani has told fans that he is more than happy with the players already at Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal.

"We already have a host of defenders to choose from," he said after Inter’s Marco Materazzi was the latest to be associated.

"They are called Alessandro Nesta, Paolo Maldini, Marcos Cafu, Dario Simic and the rest. We have no defensive questions to answer."

Milan would never spend that much on another striker, when we just bought Gila. No Italian club would, now selling for that much is another story.

In regards to Stam, don't let the door hit your dutch ass on the way out.

Stam is overrated. Bad mistake my Milan to pick him up.

Milan look to Van Basten!!!

http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...lia/feb4e.html

Quote:
Despite patron Silvio Berlusconi’s reassurances, it’s reported Milan legend Marco Van Basten has been chosen to replace Carlo Ancelotti next season.

Ancelotti is under considerable pressure after falling 12 points behind leaders Juventus in the Scudetto race and their shock elimination from the Coppa Italia at the hands of Palermo.

As he ended last season empty-handed, failure to lift the Champions League trophy in May would almost certainly see the Coach sacked.

“Ancelotti is this club’s present, but he is also its future,” assured patron Berlusconi in a television interview. “You saw my rapport with Arrigo Sacchi in the 1990s – that is the same relationship I have with Carlo.”

However, Berlusconi has never been shy about publicly criticising his Coach’s tactics and often dictating changes to him.

The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ reports today that Milan have already chosen another member of Sacchi’s all-conquering squad to lead the way from next season.

Van Basten was a key member of that line-up, which also boasted current Coaches Ancelotti, Frank Rijkaard and Roberto Donadoni.

‘The Swan’ has gone on to lead Holland to the World Cup finals and his contract runs until June 30 2008, but it’s claimed he has a clause releasing him after the tournament in Germany.

The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ claims Van Basten’s arrival would spark a revolution in the ageing side, including Andriy Shevchenko’s switch to Chelsea.

The Stamford Bridge outfit has been putting in multi-million pound bids for the former European Player of the Year for the last couple of campaigns and Milan could finally give in to raise funds for a new defence and midfield reinforcements.

I think this is a big mistake by Milan. Bringing in an outsider to coach in Serie A, a league he has never coached before???

Default Milan make Marquez move

http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...lia/feb8f.html

Quote:
Milan have made an approach for Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez, according to reports in Italy.

The Rossoneri’s quest for new blood has been well-documented and the versatility of the Mexican - who can play in both defence and midfield - particularly appeals to the Italian giants, who have allegedly already spoken to his agent.

Milan enjoy excellent relations with the Spanish champions and, should Frank Rijkaard – who has himself been linked with a return to Milan as Coach - agree to his concession, the 26-year-old could even arrive at the San Siro in the summer.

Marquez, who is a Mexico international, joined Barca from Monaco in 2004 and has a contract with the Catalan outfit until 2010.

He is the latest in a long line of defenders to be linked with a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side after Cris and Antoine Reveillère of Lyon, Hertha Berlin’s Josip Simunic, Roma’s Cristian Chivu, Goran Govrancic of Dynamo Kiev and Juve’s Jonathan Zebina.

Talking Tacchinardi in Milan link

http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/mar13f.html

Quote:
Milan are pondering a summer bid for Juventus-owned midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi, according to reports.

Stories in some sections of the Italian Press are suggesting that the former Italian international is wanted by boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The latter highly regarded the player during their time together at the Stadio Delle Alpi and he’s keen for them to link-up again.

Tacchinardi is currently in Spain with Villarreal but will be recalled to Turin in the summer as his Juventus contract doesn’t expire until 2008.

Should the move take place then it is likely to be a simple swap deal rather than one involving cash.

Juventus are believed to be presently keen on two Rossoneri stars in the form of goalkeeper Christian Abbiati and Massimo Ambrosini.

Abbiati is currently on loan at Juventus after he was brought in as a temporary replacement for the previously injured Gigi Buffon.

While Ambrosini is a midfield option who director general Luciano Moggi has attempted to lure on many occasions in the past.

Tacchinardi will be keen to impress Italian eyes should Inter make it through to face the Liga outfit in the last eight of the Champions League.

Inter take on Ajax at the San Siro on Tuesday following the 2-2 first leg draw during the Amsterdam Arena encounter.

Default Milan pair eye Czechs

http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...air+eye+Czechs

Quote:
Milan and Internazionale are both interested in signing two Czech players.

Zdenek Grygera of Ajax and Sparta Prague midfielder Tomas Sivok are both interesting the San Siro clubs as they prepare to battle for the pair's services.

The player's agent, Zdenek Nehoda, has travelled to Milan to watch Tuesday's UEFA Champions League tie between Inter and Ajax before meeting representatives of the two Milan clubs.

Nehoda's son, David, has confirmed the talks but insist they are in the early stages.

"These will be the first direct talks, we will know more in the next few weeks," he said.

Both players are currently on the sidelines through injury, Grygera suffering from a muscle problem whilst Sivok has not played for Sparta since damaging knee ligaments in October.

Default Crespo linked with Milan return

http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...h+Milan+return

Quote:
Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo could be set for a sensational return to Milan in the summer.

The Argentinean, who returned to England following his loan spell at the Rossoneri, is rumoured to be one of a number of players Milan will make a move for in the summer.

Crespo has, on a number of occasions, underlined his desire to return to Italy and his former club are reportedly very interested in regaining the player's services.

Milan's chief officer Adriano Galliani has insisted the club intends to keep all four strikers currently with the club at the San Siro, making any move dependant on whether coach Carlo Ancelotti wants further reinforcements to the forward line.

Meanwhile, the club have also been linked with moves for three of Lyon's star players.

Defender Cris, along with midfielder Mahamadou Diarra and striker Fred, have all become targets for the Italian giants following excellent performances in this season's UEFA Champions League.
