It would be great to see Zambro play for Milan but I think we need some younger blood but hey this is Milan and Cafu is still kicking ass on the right flank. With Cafu and Sergio both leaving Zambro is the ideal player to have

Milan Close To Signing 'German Cristiano Ronaldo'

AC Milan are closing in on the signature of Borussia Mönchengladbach's Marko Marin, according to Kicker.

The 18-year-old winger is described by some as the 'German Cristiano Ronaldo' and is one of the hottest young prospects currently in circulation.

Marin, who holds a Serbian passport, has played four times for the Germany Under-21 team, scoring one goal.

The youngster has attracted the attention of a host of European clubs, with Fiorentina and Ajax said to be particularly interested.

Milan have been following the Bosnia-born star for some time now, and according to Kicker they are close to coming to an agreement with Mönchengladbach.

It is unclear whether the transfer will go through in January or at the end of the season, although the latter seems more likely.

The Rossoneri have already signed one highly-rated teenager in the form of Brazilian wonderkid Alexandre Pato, who will be available to play after the New Year.

I have never heard of this guy, does anyone know who he is?

Milan Close In On Banega Deal

Reports in Italy suggest that AC Milan are very close to completing the signing of Boca Juniors starlet Ever Banega.

zoom - galleria The 19-year-old is rated as one of Argentina’s most promising young midfielders and he was a star at his country’s successful FIFA Under-20 World Cup campaign in Canada during the summer.

Banega only made his professional debut for Boca in February of this year, but such was his impact that he was given a standing ovation by La Bombonera crowd in one of his first games for the club.

Last month Milan had a €10m offer for Banega turned down by Boca chairman Mauricio Macri, however the Rossoneri have now returned with an improved offer of €16m.

Banega and Boca Juniors should come face to face with Milan in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup next Sunday.

Negotiations will be carried out in Japan over the coming week, and it is expected that both sides will agree to a deal for Banega to join Milan either in January or in the summer.

The Rossoneri have been linked with a number of youngsters recently, and are also said to be close to signing Borussia Monchengladbach winger Marko Marin, referred to by some as the ‘German Cristiano Ronaldo’.

Another poor youngester who probably won't get played very often. But I have heard his name liked alot with Milan, even more than Gourcuff's was in the past. Does Banega have an EU passport?

Milan go for goalkeeper Gomes Monday 31 December, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nelson Dida appears to have lost Milan’s confidence and after Sebastien Frey the latest target to take over is PSV Eindhoven’s Heurelho da Silva Gomes.

Dida’s position at San Siro has become untenable after a series of catastrophic errors, culminating in the woeful howler that allowed Inter to win the derby 2-1.

A new shot-stopper is among the first priorities for the January transfer market and Fiorentina’s Frey had been suggested as a front runner.

Today the ‘Corriere dello Sport’ suggests that there is another candidate making waves – fellow Brazilian Gomes.

The goalkeeper will turn 27 in February and has been consistently impressive for PSV Eindhoven in both domestic competition and the Champions League.

He has been in Europe since the summer of 2004, switching from Brazilian club Cruzeiro to Dutch outfit PSV.

Gomes helped Eindhoven to the last three Eredivisie titles on the trot and this month extended his contract until 2013.

However, he would be more than happy to accept a step up to the European and World champions with a price-tag hovering around £5m.

Won't happen, honestly.

He's an icon there, Madrid are never going to let him leave.

Not in the near future, anyway.

Lucio is a world class CB, with a huge CV.

You'd have to be lucky to have him in the team.

Anyway, it's not going to happen, not before summer 2009, at least.

Milan's £100m facelift Saturday 12 January, 2008

There are reports Milan will use £100m from a sponsorship deal with Adidas to revamp the squad with Ronaldinho, Sebastien Frey, Gianluca Zambrotta and Amauri.

The Rossoneri need to rejuvenate their side as several players are nearing retirement age, most notably Paolo Maldini and Marcos Cafu.

The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ claims this weekend that there will be huge changes over the summer, ending a period of relatively careful spending by the holders of the European and World club titles.

The funding will come from a contract with Adidas and whole new marketing strategy that would bring in up to £100m to be poured back into the transfer kitty.

The first target is Ronaldinho, whose position at Barcelona is increasingly untenable after disagreements with the club, teammates and coaching staff.

The Brazilian would cost around £40m and encourage more stars to join the San Siro giants, including his Barca colleague Zambrotta at £7m.

World Cup winning full-back Zambrotta had already been heavily linked with the Rossoneri for the past two seasons.

A new goalkeeper is needed to replace the under-fire Nelson Dida and the prime candidate is Fiorentina’s Frenchman Frey.

Parma midfielder Andrea Dossena and French international Willy Sagnol could arrive for a combined £6m and a bid for Catania defender Vargas – who is thought to be closer to Roma – is on the cards.

Midfielders are in short supply as Yoann Gourcuff and Emerson have so far failed to make an impact.

Lyon’s Swede Kim Kallstrom is available for £7m and Dynamo Zagreb talent Modric is another alternative for the same price.

In attack Milan are in the race with Juventus, Inter and Roma for Palermo starlet Amauri.

Ebouè: Milan and Juve want me Saturday 26 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arsenal full-back Emmanuel Ebouè reveals he has received offers from both Milan and Juventus.

The 24-year-old has been a regular starter for the Gunners since joining from Beveren in 2005, originally as a right-back but more recently in right-midfield.

Speaking to skysports.com from the African Cup of Nations, the Ivory Coast international confessed he had been approached for a January move to Italy.

"I didn't want to talk about that. What I can say is that many big clubs spoke to Arsenal about a transfer in the January transfer window," said Ebouè.

"But for me, it is Arsenal for the moment. I did not put a transfer request in. I like Arsenal. However, you never know [what might happen].”

Ebouè is set to face the Rossoneri in the Champions League second round next month.

Claudio Ranieri’s Juve are at the centre of an injury crisis in defence, but Ebouè would also be useful to fill in for long-term absentees down right midfield, Mauro Camoranesi and Marco Marchionni.

Torres’ Milan maybe Thursday 14 February, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has refused to rule out a move to Milan at some stage in the future.

The Spanish international has netted 19 times in all competitions since arriving at Anfield from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

Torres was briefly linked with a San Siro switch before agreeing a deal with Liverpool and it seems that the 23-year-old has pictured himself in a Milan shirt.

“Relations between Atletico Madrid and Milan have always been excellent and there was talk about the possibility of me going there,” he revealed in La Stampa.

“Last summer I didn’t receive a concrete offer from the Diavolo, but I don’t know whether I will eventually play for Milan.

“At the moment I am happy at Liverpool so I would have to say no and I hope to stay in the Premier League for a long time, but you can never say never.”

Gattuso has announced that he intends to stay at Milan "for life" (i.e., until the end of his current contract in 2011).

In other UEFA Cup challenger news, Galliani has promised the tifosi that Milan will sign a world class defender, midfielder and forward, with Flamini being the midfielder. He has also said that he expects there to be 7 to 8 new faces when Milan starts training for next year.

The forward won't be Amauri of Palermo, who was flirting desperately with Milan last week, but has now lost interest given their lack of participation in the Champions League.

Amauri will sign with Juve, which is where he has been expected to go since the winter break; Palermo get 12 million euro, Noccerino and half of the registration of highly rated prospect Lanzafame.
