That's a lot of money for an 18 year old though.....

Still if Berlu can afford it, why not. Just a lot of responsibility for such a young person.

On another note, Baptista is saying he won't join on loan. I won't be crying blood

but if three players carry on being injured we will only have Auba upfront! not good imo, too much pressure on him. thistourni is good to give him experience and see how he can handle the pressure

You could yet move for Baptista on a permanent deal - it's not outof the question. I think Milan seem to be very reluctant to be all friendly with Madrid - a consequence of Madrid's pursuit of Kaka no doubt. I would still suggest Vagner Love as a good option - he's great with his back to goal, and could form a good partnership with Ronaldo at Milan, I think.

With Pippo fading (he can still do it here and there, but the injuries and rugged style are gonna eat away at him even more this season), and the sales of Boriello and Oliviera, I'd say you'd be able to accomodate Pato in January with a striker this summer. Remember Pato can also cover Kaka as the AM, so there's ways of getting him in for games while he's young and maturing. Although, with Pato joining, does that take up your only remaining non-EU spot?

Even if that were the case, there are plenty of perfectly capable EU strikers around.

Having just spent $20m on Pato, I am sure Baptista will not come.

If anything I hope we get back-up DM, but I doubt Milan will sign anyone of great value this window.

AC Milan consider bid for Arsenal's Rosicky
tribalfooball.com - August 09, 2007

AC Milan are weighing up a bid for Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky.
Corriere dello Sport says Czech Republic international Rosicky is in the sights of Milan as they seek cover for Kaka ahead of the new season.

With concerns that Yoann Gourcuff won't come up to the mark, Milan are ready to enter the market for an attacking midfielder and after being frustrated in talks for Real Madrid's Julio Baptista, the European champs are now turning to Rosicky.

THis is the most unexpected rumour, yet it makes sense. But I rather have Gourcuff, though people consider him more of a Pirlo replacement than a Kaka back-up. Either way if he gets the job done why not. And besides Gourcuff knows whta is at stake, it's make or brake for him, and I am sure he is very determined to make this season his.

Default Milan Back In Motta Race?

The midfielder and Barcelona are far from resolving their problems and if the Brazilian does not leave the Spanish club this summer, he will surely do so in January, 6 months before his contract expires.

Thiago Motta is still hoping to join Milan before the 31st of August, the date when the transfer market will officially come to an end.

However, things are not easy as Barcelona have no intention of letting their midfielder leave on a free considering that his contract expires on the 30th of June 2008.

However, if no deal will be reached with any of his suitors, which also include Tottenham and West Ham, then the most likely outcome is that both club and player will agree to the cancellation of the contract in January, and the Brazilian will be able to join any team he wants.

His main target is Milan, and if the Rossoneri fail to sign Emerson from Real Madrid, Motta will become more of a reality for the European Champions.

Therefore a lot will be determined by what happens between Real Madrid and Milan during this week, as Motta will be hoping that the cold war between the two clubs continues.

That means Seedorf will get moved further back or dropped.

I've never been convinced with Riquelme mentally.

I doubt they'll sign him, it's not really the kind of player Milan usually go for.

It's just rumours as far as I'm concerned.

Spanish Press: Milan Want Sergio Ramos

Spanish sports daily Marca contends that AC Milan are interested in securing the services of Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos...

According to Marca, Sergio Ramos (pictured) could be Silvio Berlusconi's latest acquisition as AC Milan president.

The newspaper reports that Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has specifically requested Ramos' services, with the rossoneri hierarchy now seriously plotting a move.

Ramos, 21, arrived at the Bernabeu in 2005 from Sevilla for 27 million euros and has since established himself as perhaps the most consistent defender at the capital club.

Able to play either on the right or in the centre, Ramos is known not only for his skill but also his stamina; while other players succumbed to rotation earlier in the season, he frequently played both weekend and weekday matches every seven days until picking up a minor injury.

With Milan having an aging squad, and also a struggling side at present, Ramos would most certainly prove a young, able addition to their pool.

However, Ramos is hot property, and always has been. Indeed, back in 2005 Milan were among those competing for his signature, and as such his stock is rising.

Consequently, Madrid have tied the player down with a 150 million euro release clause, not to mention a contract that runs until 2013.

As such, Marca believes that a straight cash bid is out of the question. Instead, only a part-exchange negotiation would do. What's more, they ask whether or not Kaka could prove to be the essential bargaining chip.

Kaka as a bargaining chip is a no-chance, imo. Not a likely one at all, since Milan surel wouldn't be prepared to give over Kaka, and without that, Madrid would want a Bank for Ramos. Still, nice name to be linked with.

No chance.

Cannavaro will leave before Ramos does.

Milan ponder Stélvio swoop Thursday 15 November, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Press reports from Portugal suggest that Milan are watching midfield starlet Stélvio.

The powerful 18-year-old is building a reputation at Braga and has impressed in this term’s Bwin Liga.

The Angola-born prodigy is equally capable in the middle or playing on the right wing and has been seen as a great future prospect since his days in the youth team at the Estádio AXA.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, the Rossoneri sent scouts to watch Stélvio in the Arsenalists’ 3-0 win over Sporting Lisbon last weekend.

Despite his undoubted promise, the European champions would probably not have to dig too deep in their pockets to prise Stélvio away from Manuel Machado’s side.

It is believed that Braga would have to accept any offer in excess of Ł3m due to the club’s delicate finances.

Galliani: No Zambro in January Thursday 22 November, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has denied that Gianluca Zambrotta will join the Rossoneri in January, but he hasn’t ruled out a summer switch.

Zambrotta is reportedly keen to quit Barcelona as his wife Valentina is reportedly feeling homesick and wants a return to the peninsula.

The European champions have made no secret of their desire to lure the 30-year-old, but the deal may have to wait.

“If Zambrotta is going to arrive, it will be in July,” Galliani stated while entering today’s Lega Calcio meeting.

“We won’t be making any moves in January. The only activity will be the official transfer of Alexandre Pato as we already have a good squad.

“Zambrotta is a great player. We tried to sign him back when he was at Bari, but Juventus got there first. I thought he would arrive in 2006 if the famous events hadn’t happened.”

Galliani also took time to comment on the return of star striker Ronaldo, who should feature against Cagliari this weekend.

“There are several games before we go to Japan for the Club World Cup and he should be a starter there as he would have played in Bergamo.

“I don’t know if he’ll be a lone striker against Cagliari as I’m not the Coach,” he concluded dismissively.
