Jankulovski is great. I love his left footed crosses and when he makes his runs. Great player.

Kaladze can be used in that position know doubt, but he has expressed many times he doesn't like playing in that position. He prefers to play in the centre of defense. We still have a few quality people who can play either LB ( Kaladze, Sergio, Janku, Favalli- though not that quality- and Bonera- if need be, but preferred in centre of defense too, not to mention Maldini)
centre of defense: Bonera, Kaladze, Favalli- though would only use him as a LAST minute resort- Maldini.
Not a huge fan of Smauel, i rather prefer someone younger. ZAPATA, perhaps

You have a point there. In such a case Nesta - Kaladze would be my preferred starting CB pair for the upcoming season, with Maldini as the rotating super-sub. Bonera as the #4. Oddo and Cafu are enough on the right, even though we have others there as well. On the left, Favalli was much better than expected, but I imagine Jankulowski is still first choice. I do have a problem with that. I don't think he is a defender. Let's hope the Zambrotta rumours are true so we can move Janku to the midfield

For me, unless we sign someone new, I still like this starting order (first-choice starters in bold):
LB:
Jankulovski
Serginho
Favalli
Maldini (last resort)
CB:
Nesta
Maldini/Kaladze (Maldini starts every other game, Kaladze starts when Maldini doesn't)
Bonera
Simic
RB:
Oddo
Cafu
Brocchi
Bonera (last resort)
I really like Janku and would keep him on as starting LB myself, my suggestion of moving him back to midfield was more as a "if he'll no longer be a starter in the LB position" thing, because I want him to start SOMEWHERE. But if we do get Zambrotta, then yeah, I want to see Janku as a mid rather than as a benchwarmer.
And the latest rumors have us linked with Zambrotta again, plus Cigarini (Parma) and Raggi (Empoli).

Raggi is cool, i like him! He may be brought in next year to Milan depending on how well he does, and how Grimi adapts.
The big question remains... Will Serginho retire or extemd his contract? I am convinced it's meant to end this eason.

He's not really, he's a midfielder. But then again the same can be said of Serginho but it works well at times.
I'd be concerned if Jankulovski was my first choice LB going into the new season though.

Jankulovski has proved just fine this season, and besides. It works with serginho and it also works with Janku. Unless we get Zambro there i am more than happ to have Janku or Serginho start there.
In other news, Milan have been linked with Pato and Leonadro is meetign with him soon.

Emserson is back on the cards with a bit of a twist in teh story. And Baptista has been offered to Milan too.

Ancelotti chiama Emerson, offerto Julio Baptista

And Motta and Deco have also been rumoured once again

Baptista I'm not impressed by and don't think he will work at Milan. There should always be room for a Deco in a team like Milan. Motta is nice enough as a back-up. Pato I just don't know enough about to say.

Same here, my thoughts exactly. I see no problem at all with Janku as starter going into the new season-- he was our starting LB for the vast majority of 06/07 (i.e., that season where we won the CL) after Serginho's injury. I can't help but think that people may be remembering only his performance against Liverpool. It's natural for the last game you see to be the one that sticks with you, and he did have a bad game against Liverpool-- but that at the end of a season where, in my eyes, he rose to the occasion and entirely proved himself.
Absolutely, he was a mid and he's not a traditional defender... but he's a brave, passionate, adventurous player, and defense can be learned. I once heard someone call him "swashbuckling" and I can't think of a better possible word to describe him. Who wants some "normal" defender when you can have the Czech Jack Sparrow marauding down the left lane?
Transfers... Motta would be OK, Deco would be great. Supposedly (also calciomercato.com) Barça has confirmed that Motta is for sale.
Also (tribalfootball.com) Empoli has said they won't sell Raggi, and we're linked with Fred from Lyon.
As for Pato, until I see more of him playing I'm going to continue to believe that he's the Paris Hilton of the transfer market, famous for being famous but no one really remembers how it started.

ADRIANO GALLIANI SULLE TRATTATIVE ESTIVE
28/06/2007
|
Galliani has been quoted saying on Milan's site.
He says Cassano has laways been someone that has interested him. And they wil see what happens.
On Pato he says many people are interested in him, but Milan at this point have no interest in him.
Quote:
CARLO ANCELOTTI: 'In difesa e a centrocampo siamo a posto'
28/06/2007
In difesa e a centrocampo siamo a posto".

Bsaicaly saying that Milan are set in difense and in the midfield and there shalll be no one coming in to full those positions. And s he has said Milan are only after a forward.

Well he is always full of sh1t, so I don't believe him. But IF, for a change, he's telling the truth, then I am worried. I'm getting 2000 vibes from this....

Both you and Inter have been linked with Maresca, could be a decent signing.
