AC Milan ponder move for Cesena sensation Papa Waigo

AC Milan are interested in Cesena sensation Ndiaye Papa Waigo.
The Senegal international has struck 15 goals in Serie B this season and has attracted interest from Palermo and Napoli.

ControCampo says Milan chiefs Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani are also discussing Papa Waigo and pondering a move for the centre-forward.

This guy is quite a player, i have seen him play a few times for Cesena, he has impressed me every time.

AC Milan chief Ariedo Braida is sensationally stepping up plans to prise Philippe Mexes away from Roma.

Antenna 3's Lunedi di Rigore says Braida was spotted dining at the Milan restaurant 'Da Giannino' with France international Mexes last night.

Mexes, 25, has only a year left on his contract, which carries a £7 million buyout clause.

Ambrosini is injury-prone though, maybe he's supposed to be an Ambro sub? But as you said, Ambro will be picked ahead of him if healthy.

Barcelona ace Edmilson has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to European champions Milan.

The defensive midfielder has been paired with the Rossoneri over the last few days and he has made it clear that a San Siro switch would be welcomed.

“If Milan want me then they should make their move right now,” the South American told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I like Milan and Serie A even if it is not totally up to me. I still have one year left on my contract here so Barca will have to have their say.”

Milan already have a massive Brazilian contingent and the World Cup player is keen to become the latest Samba star to wear the Milan jersey.

“My countrymen seem to be happy at Milan and we are talking about one of the best clubs in the world, like Barcelona,” he added.

“It is certainly a possibility that I would like, but if Milan want me then they need to contact Barcelona first.”

AC Milan have made a £7 million bid for Gremio midfielder Carlos Eduardo.

The agent of the Brazil U20 star, Jorge Machado, revealed the Rossoneri's offer and also the rival interest of Barcelona.

Gremio president Paulo Odone insists they won't consider selling Carlos Eduardo, who will be watched by Milan and Barcelona at the U20 World Championships in Canada this summer.

AC Milan admit interest in Henry

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that the Italian club want to sign Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Henry, 29, has long been linked with a move to Barcelona, but Champions League winners Milan now say they want the Frenchman to come to the San Siro.

"Henry is a great striker and among the players that we are interested in," said Ancelotti.

"Our wish is to acquire a midfielder and a striker but they're all difficult signings to make."

Ricardo Oliveira, who joined from Real Betis last summer, has failed to make an impact at Milan while Alberto Gilardino is out of favour with Ancelotti and has already expressed his intention to leave the club.

"There is no reason why Gilardino's wish to leave the club cannot come true as we can find an adequate player in exchange," said Ancelotti.

"Last summer there weren't many players who wanted to come to Milan but there are more now.

"There's one none of you would suspect and if I was to tell you the world would end. We're delighted he wants to play for Milan."

Last week, Henry played down reports he was set to quit the Gunners after being linked with Barca and Inter Milan.

Henry said: "Since I started playing football there has been speculation about me going to a lot of clubs and that will never, ever stop.

"But as I said, for now I'm an Arsenal player, so there is nothing to add to it."

Henry signed a new four-year contract last summer but has since been plagued by injuries and has grown frustrated at Arsenal's inability to mount a title challenge.

"It was pretty difficult to see once again that we finished so far away from the top teams," added Henry, whose side finished fourth in the Premiership in the 2006-2007 campaign.

"It's always the same top four and I'm actually getting annoyed that we're finishing at the end of the top four now."

Wow, lots of movement in & out of Milan this summer seems likely, I've been saying it for months, I think Henry will leave, whether he'll go to Milan or Barca though...

That's Henry been linked with Barca, Inter and AC Milan now.

Wenger obviously needs money from somewhere.

I can't see Henry moving to Italy, it'll be Spain.

For some reason I just don't see Henry at Milan, though I don't think Inter is out of the question for him.

Milan needs to be careful of age/injury with any strikers it brings in though. Oliveira (27 and not working out well for Milan) out and Henry in, OK. Gilardino (24) out and Henry in makes far less sense.

Not saying we should rule out all "older" strikers, but I want to have at least one or two younger guys in the squad. The current ones, Gilardino and Borriello, are just fine.

Agreed, given our age issue, I wouldn't sell Gila to bring in Henry even if Henry clearly is the better player.
