Chelsea defender set for £15million AC Milan move?

Reports in Italy claim Chelsea Football Club's Ricardo Carvalho could be on his way to AC Milan in a £15million deal.

The reports claim the Londoners are willing to let the Portugal international leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, and have invited the San Siro giants to make an offer of £15million.

The 27-year-old is a popular figure amongst Blues fans and has played a key role for them since a £20million move from Porto in the summer of 2004, and has played 27 of the 30 games in The Premiership this season.

However, Jose Mourinho is believed to be eager to reshape his back four in time for next term and has identified a new centre-half as part of the rebuilding, meaning Carvalho could be starting the 2007/08 campaign in Italy.

Milan look to PSV ace Alex Friday 11 May, 2007

Champions League finalists Milan are preparing to strengthen their ageing defence with PSV Eindhoven stopper Alex.

The 23-year-old, who has impressed in this season’s European competition, is liked by Coach Carlo Ancelotti and club scouts.

However, they are set to face some competition for the Brazilian whose contractual situation is a little unclear.

Although he finds himself in Holland, Alex seems to be actually owned by Chelsea who couldn’t take him to Stamford Bridge because of work permit problems.

Now stories in the peninsula claim that the London club are willing to let him join the Italian giants, but only if Kakha Kaladze [pictured] is included in the deal.

The Georgian was on the verge of a Chelsea move two years ago, but no fee could be agreed and he signed a new Rossoneri contract instead.

Even though Milan want Alex, Vice-President Adriano Galliani has insisted that Kaladze will be going nowhere.

“Kaladze, like all of the other Rossoneri key players, is absolutely untransferable and not for sale,” said the official.

“We have confirmed all our champions for next season and we are not willing to start any negotiations about moves.”

PARIGI, 11 maggio 07 – E' l’eterna ambizione dei campioni di Francia: trovare una punta di peso che faccia la differenza in Champions League e che permetta di passare almeno la soglia tabù dei quarti di finale. E stavolta, l’attaccante della svolta potrebbe essere un italiano: Alberto Gilardino.
CACCIA - Lo rivela France Football nell’edizione odierna. Il Lione si è messo in scia del giocatore del Milan. Una pista seria, legata ai movimenti di mercato del club rossonero. Gilardino "non ha più l’aura dei primi tempi. Il Milan ha preso Ronaldo e sta lavorando su Eto’o, senza contare su un ritorno eventuale di Shevchenko".
COSTI - Quindi, "Gilardino è sul piede di partenza – scrive FF – anche se il contratto scade nel 2010. Il giocatore sarà di sicuro meno caro rispetto al prezzo di arrivo (24 milioni di euro)". Secondo il settimanale francese, il costo potrebbe essere fissato tra i 15 e i 17 milioni, ovvero il prezzo pagato dal Lione in passato per Anderson, la punta rimpianta che trasformò il destino dei campioni di Francia a suon di gol. Un prezzo abbordabile, visto che il presidente Aulas vuole investire sul mercato gran parte dei 200 milioni di euro previsti in bilancio.
PROBLEMA - Se il prezzo non spaventa, un dubbio rimane. "Al solito – scrive FF – è quello dello stipendio. A Milano, Gilardino guadagna 250mila euro al mese. Il Lione può permettersi di offrigli almeno lo stesso?". Domanda legittima che apre altre piste. In primis Carlos Tevez che un paio di mesi fa sembrava destinato al Marsiglia. Ma sulla short list della dirigenza ci sono anche Saha, che oggi dichiara all’Equipe di voler rimanere dov’è, al Manchester United, e Makaay, 32 anni, spinto fuori dal Bayern Monaco da un certo Luca Toni.

No surprise that they want him, but wanting him doesn't mean getting him. At this point I'd be very surprised if Milan sell him; Ancelotti has recently named him as part of the "nucleus" of the team alongside Gattuso, Pirlo, Kaka, etc.

Tevez Stops English Lessons, Milan And Sevilla Loom

West Ham striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that he is no longer learning English as he waits to find out where he will be playing next season. AC Milan and Sevilla have been linked with moves for the Argentine.

The Argentinian recently won the club’s Player of the Season award after an impressive first season following his controversial transfer from Corinthians.


"I have stopped learning English as I don't know where I am going to end up next season," he told The Times. "But yes, it was hard to settle (in England).

"The language is an issue - and I will learn English if I stay in this league - and, of course, the football here is different compared to Brazil or Argentina.

"In my opinion, it's the most difficult competition in the world. That may be why so few people make it over here.

"Every Saturday you get kicked and you end up going home with marks all over your body. They hit you hard, they hit you everywhere - Premiership defenders are very strong individuals.

"And the referees allow a lot. They don't interrupt the game as much as they do elsewhere. But you know what? I don't mind all that, it makes me a better player, a stronger player."

Speaking about his West Ham career thus far, he said: "The first two or three months were not great, but then I started earning the respect of those around me, above all the players. And that's the most important thing.

"Whenever you arrive at a club, you have to earn the respect of your team mates. If you can do that, they will be there for you. I knew, even in the difficult times, that eventually people would see me for who I am."
There is unlikely to be a dearth of takers for him, and early reports suggest that Milan seem keen to snap him up. Sevilla, who will be playing in the Champions League next season, are also keen to land him, though it is understood that they would rather secure a loan deal.

Milan once again missing out on a player, Pezzini has gone for Liverpool as they have decided not to renew Fowler's contract. He is going for 12mil, and has alreday done teh medical tests and all.
