Some details of Fire-Morelia deal (Radio Unica)
Some “details” of Fire-Morelia agreement
Exclusive from Radio Unica…
Who would have thought it ? The team whose Front Office makes most sense (the Fire) has a partner that also does. Mr. Salinas from Club Morelia of Mexico went into the details of the partnership plan to be made with Chicago….The main points are the following:
-First he denied categorically that they would be willing to start a new MLS team …”we do not think it would go with the essence of what MLS is trying to be” Wow, someone who actually makes sense of things! Sounds already more knowledgeable than our Chivas/America friends...
-Instead, they are “joining” Chicago” How? By providing the Chicago Fire with a player from Morelia’s first team (either Mexican or foreigner).....He mentioned it would not be someone just for the sake of the name, but someone who would fit into the Fire team, according to what Sarachan feels he needs the most….He did not rule out it could be one of their well known players, as long as the Fire thought it is someone who could fit in….Can't be more acommodating than that
-Another amazing move they are planning is to establish an A-League team by 2005, most likely in the Chicago area, so that they can start partnering with Chicago in a more day to day basis….His vision is to have increasingly more exchanges of players as time goes by
-Also, members of the Chicago first team, just like this season, will train with Morelia’s first team for a couple of weeks…There is always the chance that one of these players joins up with the MFL club..In this case, it would also be either an American or foreign player….
I think this sounds like a really great deal, then again I'm not a Fire fan, so i'd like to know your opinions

any connection with another pro team I think is good, I even think the Chivas thing will be good as long as the MLS brass stay ontop of the rules.
Now we need some link ups with teams across the pond!!!!!!

Not too turn this into a political discussion, but....many people abroad, have serious issues with the USA at the moment, especially your administration. Yelling Osama was a classless act, but they are obviously voicing their displeasure of world events.

Was I the only one to notice how well the Mexicans played against teams like Italy in the World Cup, then the United States play them, and they got real dirty, real quick. The Italy game was awesome, and it shows just how good Mexico really is, but when they result to the tactics they use when they play against the United States, they come across really badly. I think its because soccer is such a big part of their culture, and it was one of the only things they could hold over the US. Now that the US has MLS and can give its developing playing time before going over to Europe, we have seemed to pass them up in soccer, and at the bare minimum drawn equal to them. They seem to have taken this very badly and this latest development only attests to that.
