Yeah this is ridiculous, since when are players from other teams allowed to score against Chelsea? It's not fair, if you ask me it's ruining the league. IMO it would be a lot better if Chelsea were just given 114 points per season, that'd make things a lot more interesting, because then any games they play wouldn't even matter, and it wouldn't matter if the opposition scored. Because the point of football is that only one team is allowed to score, right?

then the league for deciding goal difference would be the decider. I appreciate the fact that you won it on points in the end, but had the inevitability of GD not been there, things would have been quite different.
|
Correction, things could have been different. But then again if I were a Brazilian transvestite prostitute things could have been different too.

I suppose now is as good a time as any to really question the legitimacy of goal difference, seeing as it basically shows how you pounded on the lesser teams more frequently, which is rather shallow. Head to head record would have been better, that was also a tie of course.
|
Should we just ignore the fact that against the big 4, United won 4, drew 1 and lost 1?
While Chelsea managed 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats against the top 4.
Just to help you, that means out of the top 4, United would have 13 points out of a possible 18, while Chelsea would have 8.
Let's also keep in mind that when Chelsea beat United, it was a United without their 2 top scorers, in a relatively unimportant game in comparison with the 2nd leg v Barcelona.

Well done to Utd though, deserved it in the end.
|
Well thank fuck for that. Although it's a bit like saying "fuck off, no offence though", hardly seems like you mean it.

As shown above, it's more a case of Chelsea being in the title race at all because of their consistent ability to beat (not pound, though) the weaker teams, while struggling against the tougher opposition.
And thanks for the pics Nani17

lets keep in mind when you beat us with 10 men from set peices we didn't have Drogba,Carvalho and Lampard only just had a new manager.
cmon now please. only beat what's in front of you.

despite us having the best away record, unbeaten at home, lost the fewest games, I think your view on us is pretty poor. Fact our third and 2nd choice keeper played started 13 games in EPL this year shows how under strength we were at sometimes.
Our abillity to not keep on to leads your abillity to come back from one goal down , was key to your victory this year.
Anyway don't get upset, you won the title., be happy!

Hey I'm just saying he deserves a little credit from Utd. Just like we would have had to thank Roque Santa Cruz.

I somehow doubt we'd see the side simply give up in the last 10 minutes if they knew the title was still possible.

Not at all, but we should note that not a single one of those games saw Utd piss over anyone, dominate the game from start to finish, or do any of the things we're so used to having rammed down our throats by the media. Good team, good football, not some mythical xi cut from God's special cloth.

Quite, but that doesn't change what the title MIGHT have been decided on, which should be changed for the future. And obviously it wouldn't have been a big deal facing Chelsea in a playoff, considering such a convincing record against the top 4.

Not really... he's just doing his job. Obviously we're not going to hate him for it but he doesn't deserve a Winner's medal for it.

I don't see why that's particularly important...

Well, there was the game United beat Liverpool 3-0, and in the FA Cup we spanked Arsenal 4-0... But I guess that's just not good enough

No, of course not, I was making a point about the hyperbole this season.
It's also amusing that after two consecutive titles nobody is asking if Utd are bad for the game, all showing just how ludicrously bias our press is.

I don't think so, most of the BBC are Liverpool fans, and the media hates Ronaldo, they think he's a fantastic player but a c*nt.
It's not like United only get good press.

I'd say it's the majority of people that think that about Ronaldo, not just Liverpool fans that work for the BBC.
Of course UTD get some bad press, but that's because there are plenty of shit journalists. It's the bias that I don't see, at least not to the same extent anyway. I suppose that's your reward for 20 years of sustained success.
