Default Well if Ronaldo does go this Summer

A hell of a lot of bull is flying around, but if it actually were to happen this summer . . .

What deal do you think we should push for, how do you think we'd use the cash, and how do you think our style of play would change, if it were to?

I bet Sir Alex won't let him go for any price. He has too many years left out of his contract with United.

i agree wth tal but there always a but wth ronaldo.

so first lets assume he leaves.for one we will press hard and will make him the table topping transfer fee.

then for sure fergie must have some one he would take to united.be it from real themselves or other clubs.

now in our style of play, will we be different a bit maybe.coz when ruud was here our team moved in only 1 direction and it almost tore us apart.now we are getting goals from every where and yes last season large chunk of that came from ronaldo but it doesnt leave ourt the fact that others have contributed in creating the goal for him and goal for themselves too.

now we are more opened and any player who comes in to replace ronaldo can do the job but not as same way as how ronaldo did it but my main point is the team will make it work.besides football is a team play.

IF it happened this summer, I'd expect Robinho in return immediately.

And I'd hope United push for another player, Sergio Ramos would be awesome. That would really test how much Real want him.

With those 2 involved I don't really think any money is particularly necessary but if we can squeeze another I dunno... £50M out of them I'd be happy.

I'm not sure about Diarra though. He's a great DM, but we already have so many central midfielders. BUT he is a completely different type of midfielder to the ones we have, a real athlete, big strong and always getting into challenges. When playing against the likes of Chelsea it's always useful to have someone like that in the middle of the park but other than in those games I can't really see a use for him.

But other than the 3 mentioned players, I don't think any of Madrid's players are particularly desirable or available at all in the case of Casillas.

If the only player involved in the exchange were Robinho I'd be disappointed with much less than £75M.

If Sergio Ramos is included any amount of cash will be a bonus.

If it's Robinho + Diarra, I want £50M

And if it's Ramos + Diarra, I want around £25M.

That's not too much to ask for gawd's sake!

Robinho is better then Diarra and he is an attacking player that you would need. So i really don't understand your logic on how Diarra is worth 25M more then Robinho.

I don't follow your logic as to how you got that I rate Diarra as 25M more than Robinho... care to explain?

I said if it's Robinho and Ramos then there's no real need for cash, but if it's Ramos and Diarra then we should get at least 25M, so it's the reverse.

I disagree - if it's Robinho and Ramos, it should be an additional 50m at least, and I think 60m would be more reasonable. Ronaldo wants to break his contract, Real have been doing everything they can to nudge the move along - punish them both. Make Real bleed from every orifice with the transfer fee - and to top it all off, don't accept any structured payments. Everything up front.

You're going to be very disappointed if he does decide to leave.

Except that since the spoiled brat is under contract until 2012 - it's not up to him at all. It's up to the Glazers, David Gill and SAF. If Ronaldo threatens to "go on strike" as I read in one of the articles this morning, then he's not likely to get paid either. To add an additional twist, apparently Nike and United are working on putting together the CR7 line for next season - but if he leaves and goes to Real, that's 25m in sponsorship money he loses because Real have an agreement with Adidas ...

I was referring to the amount you think we'll get if he's sold.

I've reached a point with all of this where I would simply prefer for this to be resolved either way it goes. I'm sick of the speculation, though that said I am absolutely sucked in by it. And am going to add my wish list to conversation here...

I want only one offer from Real: Ramos + 75 Million Pounds.

That said having that on board I would rather like for United to go get Berbatov and Quaresma. I think that then they should use the other 40 Mil to bribe FIFA to let them play with 12 men for the next season to make up for the loss of CR7 (only sarcastic of course).

I would prefer to see Ronaldo stay. but at this point I just want all this resolved, which can only happen with Ronaldo stating exactly how long he intends to be at united.

If it happens I'll cry.

Seriously though Robinho would be cool.

£45m plus a top class player (and by that I mean Snejder or Ramos) would be what I'd be pushing for.

Tbh, I'm not big on the idea of Robinho plus cash. I think we could go out with a £20m cheque and get ourselves someone just as good, whereas I doubt we'd be able to get ourselves a better attacking midfielder or right back than Sneijder or Ramos for that amount.

I think if we got Sneijder, he'd be the "replacement", meaning we'd be changing our style quite a bit, as he's the passer where Ronaldo's the dribbler. I may be captivated by the Dutch style atm, but I'm dreming of a 4231/433 with Berbs up top, Rooney and Tevez off him, with Sneider in the gap ahead of the two midfielders. Only ponderings ye, but you never know

My view on this whole thing is that we really do hold all the cards. Keeping Ronaldo would be a very good acheivement, and we'd be able to put the last couple of pieces into this puzzle, whereas selling him we'd have the cash to pump into a pretty big overall improvement in the squad.

The Glazers don't normally speak, as we all know, but they did this week.

Ronaldo is STAYING at Manchester United. Full stop.

Now, it is up to Ronny to get his head down and work for us, or he goes in the reserves.

It's about time someone made a stand against the demands of these pre-madonnas. They're good, but for fuck sake, they aren't worth £50k per week, never mind £300k per week !!

I would rather see Ronaldo play Wigan reserves than give in to Real Madrid.

But:

Football isn't like that as we all know.

So, handcuffed to a railing and screaming from the rooftops, I would demand at least £100m for Ronny.

I would buy Richards (forget Ramos, he's shit), Snejder and Berbatov or Santa Cruz.

Simple.

Straight £100m cash or would you take Sneijder and £75m? I like the way you think btw. And as far as Richards, City would jack the price up by 50 - 100% just because it's their cross-town rivals trying to buy the player. I think Ramos, Sneijder and £55m would be fair ...
