EPL: Wigan 0-2 Manchester United [11.5.2008] - Final MD
I'm really nervous about this game now, Wigan are a solid side but they shouldn't pose us a problem, as long as the team plays to its best and gets out of the blocks quickly.
The league is in our hands and it would be one of the worst nightmares imaginable if we throw it away on the final MD...
Rumours are Rooney might be back which is good news, as long as he's fit enough to play at his usual level.

Indeed.... will be squeeky bum time for sure!!
Like you say, Wigan at home are solid, none of the other top four teams have taken a victory there.
*looks to the heavens and prays for a win!!*
Come on Stevie Bruce... you HAVE to let us win lol lol lol
Match fixing...........never!!

agreed.1st of the 2 finals we have imo.all the wins, draw, losts wont matter shit in this game.all the points we picked up from our rivals wont mean anything either if we dont win this.
now is the time and this is the game.this is what will put a definition to all of our past 37 games.
we need a solid side defensively while an attacking side that will struck them down in every chance we get.no more wasting time to be 11 united on the field.

Good luck.
I think you'll win. I hope they put up a harder fight than West Ham.
We should have spanked them when we got the draw, but that's the biggest difference between us this season...your forwards have been very efficient, ours have been very inefficient.

I must admit I'm getting sick of all the comments coming out of the Chelsea camp about how Wigan are likely to take points off us while Chelsea are going to stroll to victory at Bolton, like Carvalho saying:
"I am convinced we will beat Bolton, so the key to the title will be at Wigan".
This would just make winning that little bit sweeter, just to ram their words down their throats, with their attempts at mind-games...

Surely Man Utd cant slip up.
If wigan win I bet it will involved Valencia who has been heavily linked with United. Or maybe I just had a thought Fergie has been playing mind games so Valencia and Palacious the 2 key players in the side are under pressure to impress and therefore play poor?

Nerves all round!
We should really be able to bea Wigan, and I'm sure SAF has the experience to keep the pressure off his side. He's done it all before, after all.
If we can get an early goal, like we did against West Ham, it would help a lot, but we really just have to play our game as we would.
