EPL: Manchester United 0-0 Reading
Well Sunday 4pm Kick off for this game.
Its strange how quick the season has come around.
Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson and Tevez have all come in the summer.
Smith and Rossi have left with Heinze also possibly could be leaving the club.
I think Gary Neville, Louis Saha and Ole Solskjaer will definally miss the game. Hargreaves is a doubt and Tevez and Anderson will be fit but not play if they dont find there fitness. Also Scholes is also a doubt.
------------------VDS--------------
Brown------Rio--------Vidic-----Evra
Ronaldo---Carrick--Hargreaves/Scholes--Giggs
---------------Rooney-----Tevez
I think that is likely to be the first team for the game as Tevez should be fine after the Wednesday game. Other wise Giggs will play with Rooney and Fletcher or John O Shea will come in.

tbh I'd rather see Evans or even Pique given a go at RB ahead of Brown...
Reading are a good team, they've only lost Sidwell and they gave us big problems last year, we should beat them but it's not going to be the same scoreline as our opening fixture last season.
2-1 or 3-2 I'm guessing.

scholes is more then a doubt he will miss at least 2/3 games in the early season.
well our 1st game, a great new adventure, new kit, new players but the same and ever growing intensity, passion, and flare of our beloved red devils.
it will be a tough considering how well they did in their 1st season in epl, we have our own problems but wth the team we have currently we can push for a win wth our experience through out the field.
a 2-0 will be good scoreline though some what a "fulham" will be amazing

Subs: Heinze, Anderson, Nani, O Shea and Kuszack
With no space for Darren Fletcher and Pique and Evans just shows how strong our squad is.

Anyone else think Brown should not start?

i personally think that brown is a good option at right back... i think hes a nice player in the back. good instincts, good tackler, and seems to be positionally intelligent as well. i rate him quite highly and im VERY happy that hes decided to stay with united this season after there were some transfer rumors with him involved towards the beginning of the summer.
i know that scholes is out... is there any word on hargreaves' availability? i thought i had heard that he was going to miss this game?

Brown aint that bad, but going forward is his problem. But right back is not a bad problem, maybe even Hargreaves could play there if we really need to if the midfield spots are taken.

Brown is ok at RB, always solid defensively but what was the point in not sending Pique and Evans out on loan again if they're not gonna play at all. This is a good opportunity for them to show what they've got, they're not expected to be perfect on the first day of the season but it would do their confidence a world of good.

Brown is a good player, I don't know why there is such dislike. Anyway I think this will be the line-up...
VdS
Brown - Ferdy - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Giggs - Nani
Rooney - Tevez

probably the main reason why brown is a bit dislike is due to his error prone game i presume, some goes well but some proved to be costly.he is great but he needs to clean up a bit and make his game tidier

well they wont get starting berth straight away, but i expect them to get subbed in to reading's game in 2nd half.

Brown is a very talented player - at centre back. He's shit at full back and offers nothing going forward at all, but then neither do Pique or Evans. I'd rather see Simpson there.
I've got a feeling Hargreaves will be playing a lot of games at RB this season when Neville is out.

OH OH OOH! It's Carrick you know! Hard to believe it's not Scholes!

Scholes could be in (check the injury thread)
and Lita is definitely out it seems, that's good news for us.
