Real ready to spend £100m on C. Ronaldo
Real Madrid are ready to bid a world record £80 MILLION for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The offer will succeed the £70 million Real indicated they were willing to pay last year, says La Sexta. However, sources close to United insist the board won't consider the amazing offer - as it still doesn't meet their valuation.

Spanish reports claim Real Madrid have decided to offer Manchester United a world-record £100million for Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is believed Real told United last summer they would pay up to 120million euros for the Portuguese star.
The Red Devils made it quite clear they had no plans to sell Ronaldo - but the wonderful form of player, which has seen him score nearly 40 goals this season, will prompt a new bid.
Real have made little secret of their desire to lure Ronaldo to the Spanish capital and now La Sexta is claiming that an incredible £100million bid is imminent.
La Sexta - who have the rights to La Liga television coverage in Spain, are said to have close ties with high-ranking Real officials, from where the news on the possible bid have emanated.
However, it is also being reported that despite the huge bid, Real are not expecting United to accept the deal.
The current world record for a footballer is already held by Real, after they £46million to Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.
Recent speculation intensified after it was reported in Spain that Real's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic met with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes in London and Rome in recent weeks

Sky Sports | Football | Premier League | Manchester United | Reports claim record Ronaldo bid
From Sky Sports, £100m
For that we could get 4 world class players in, but this is Ronaldo, and I'd hate to see him leave. Imagine that though - £88m profit on him!
Still he's on £120,000 a week and SAF jokes about giving him a raise. If ever someone was classed as indispensible, it's him now.
But, noone is really expecting Ronaldo to finish his career with us, and we'l likely have to hand him over some time. It's all about timing here. Real offfered £60m last season. This season Ronaldo has done even better and Madrid offer £100m. Can he exceed this level? If he can, then the times not right to sell.
I really don't know on this one, it may be all rumoured speculation anyway, as reports emanating from Spain often are, but with our squad as strong as it is now, and only a few touch ups needed, would it be worth selling our prized asset?

Ronaldo can't become better than he already is. He can only continue performing on the same level like he is on now.

Continuing the same level would be good enough. My point is it's one thing for a winger to score 40 goals in a season, and another to score 80 goals in two seasons. If that's possible, then he'd be on another level . . . one even higher than the one he's on now.

Ronaldo tops PFA nominations list
Quote:
Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo leads the nominations for the Professional Footballers' Association players' player of the year.
The Portuguese international, 23, who has scored a phenomenal 37 goals this season, also won the award last term.
Arsenal pair Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor are also up for the prize, along with Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and striker Fernando Torres.
The final nominee is Portsmouth's England goalkeeper David James.
Ronaldo, Fabregas and Torres are also in the running to be the PFA young player of the year - a title which Ronaldo also walked away with last season.
They are joined by Aston Villa duo Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young and Manchester City's England defender Micah Richards.
Ronaldo is being strongly tipped to be named Fifa world player of the year later on this year, after finishing behind AC Milan's Kaka and Barcelona's Lionel Messi last time around.

BBC SPORT | Football | Premier League | Ronaldo tops PFA nominations list
Is he going to win both of them again? Based on actual performances it's hard to argue against it, but I can see Torres or Fabregas taking one of the prizes, probably the young player award, but I think Ronaldo deserves both again.
And Kaka has labelled Ronaldo as the current best in the world:
Goal.com - Champions League - Kaka: Cristiano Ronaldo The Best
Quote:
It’s also true that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best football in the world at the moment.
He is world class but to win the Ballon d’Or there are other factors to take into account, the Euros could provide further proof.
