Cristiano Ronaldo Thread - UEFA, Champions League & Premiership Golden Boot Winner
Cristiano Ronaldo became Manchester United's newest young hero when he signed from Sporting Lisbon in August 2003 and was immediately given David Beckham's number 7 shirt.
Among his main characteristics there are: terrific physique, balance, pace, two feet and he`s technically terrific. Also he`s got a fantastic personality and great strength of mind.Ronaldo is as comfortable on the left as he is on the right side of the pitch.
He also plays for Portugal's national team.
This thread is a close up on Ronaldo with updates from rest of his United career.

Like my scrotum, here it is in a nutshell.
1st season crap, 2nd season poor, 3rd season alright, 4th season very good. Stayed a dick throughout, remains a flat track bully (but not necissarily all his own fault).

I don't know how many food critics make references to their scrotum. Perhaps I should be on that basis.

You seem to be underrating Ronaldo slightly Hanuma. I find it hard to dispute that he is the best winger in the world.

OK back to the actual thread topic..................
OK first of all he is an amazing player and like its said above has to be THE best winger in the premiership, however, my gripe is about Ronaldo and his free kicks.
Can anyone remember the last time he scored from a free kick?????
From my memory he either blasts it into row Z of the Stretford End or tries knocking someone out in the opposition wall.
Giggs showed against reading how to curl a ball and was pretty unlucky, why doe Ronaldo not try and curl it?? With Tevez entering the squad and looking at last season for West Ham, he scored some amazing free kicks, do you think its time for Ronaldo to let Tevez have a crack??
Just my opinion

Hargreaves is meant to be very good at freekicks. Tevez is also damn good too. Ronaldo should only take the ones that are about 30-35 yards out and at an angle. That way he can fizz the ball in and we can try and score the rebound as the keeper parries his drive.

Ronaldo calms Roma feud Thursday 4 October, 2007
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has eased tension with Roma and stresses that Mirko Vucinic’s elbow at Old Trafford was accidental.
The Portuguese ace made himself unpopular with the Giallorossi by claiming in his book Moments that Roma players “begged him to stop” during last year’s 7-1 humiliation.
Late in the game on Tuesday, Vucinic’s elbow connected with Ronaldo’s face and left him bleeding, prompting suggestions that it was an intentional attack, but the ex-Sporting Lisbon man has denied that.
“It wasn’t an intentional foul,” Ronaldo told journalists. “It was just one of those things that happen during a game.
“I don’t like black eyes, but Vucinic didn’t do it on purpose and these things happen in football.”
United triumphed 1-0 on Tuesday night, but Roma captain Francesco Totti seemed to threaten Ronaldo by insisting that he “still has to come to the Stadio Olimpico.”
While Ronaldo hasn’t taken back his comments, he believes that they have been misinterpreted and is keen to clear the air before he makes the trip to the Eternal City in December.
“Read my book and you will see on page 112 exactly what happened,” he stressed.
“A Roma player did ask me to stop dribbling, but obviously he was joking just like some English players do when they ask me to switch to the other side of the pitch.
“Roma played well and had some good chances and we aren’t the side we were in April. But we are improving and we will be better at the Olimpico in December.”

If you read the book then you'll understand how writers overexaggerate most of the info and like to twist words, I would read anythign to it, I suppose it's a ploy to make him look like a badass, though CR does have narcissitic tendencies.
