now this must be the whammy of the year that i read in channel4.
Quote:
United offer Ron to Juve
Manchester United are supposedly ready to offer Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in return for David Trezeguet and Raffaele Palladino.
Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims that United have renewed their interest in the Frenchman, who was already targeted last summer as Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s successor following his Real switch.
The Old Trafford outfit are apparently therefore ready to offer Ronaldo to the Bianconeri, but Sir Alex Ferguson has now asked for 22-year-old Palladino to be included in the operation as well.
While Juve are ready to sacrifice Trez, whose contract expires in 2008, they are unlikely to allow Palladino to leave seeing as he is part of their future plans.
Juventus have instead offered a youngster between Paolo De Ceglie, Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco and are now waiting for a reply from the Premiership side.
Ronaldo is a market target for various European clubs including Barcelona, Valencia and Real Madrid, but Juventus could be favoured in the race to sign the 22-year-old.
The Bianconeri are ready to offer the midfielder a contract which would see him keep hold of his lucrative image rights.
Sportswear giants Nike, who supply both the player and the Italian club, are also reportedly ready to financially help the Turin giants net the 2006 World Cup star.

It sounds like Man Utd contacted Juventus about Trezeguet rather than the other way around.

Its been a consistent rumour since the Ronaldo deal fell out a few years ago. He would have been a Juve player if Salas would have agreed to move to Portugal. I dont regret it, as Nedved has been class. Thats besides the fact Ronaldo acts like a brat on the field.

Funny thing about this was a few days ago it was 25 million pounds, than b4 that it was Buffon + 10 mil. Now its Trezeguet + Palladino + cash. Its a ridicolous rumour and there is no real worthwhile benefit to either club.

I know. Its in the same mould of the Beckham, Crouch rumours. Shite designed to sell papers. Thx to Juve's situation the Italian media is more easily able to publish these type of stories.
This looks like another 1 of Tuttosport's ideas, rather than a realistic rumour. Beckam, Ronaldo (Madrid) are good examples.

Channel 4 does sometimes pull out with some rubbish news regarding Italian football. Isnt there any better Italian website sources in english available like similar to bbc or skysports?

Channel 4 doesn't produce the rumours. They take them from the rubbish Italian papers and put them in English.

I'm not a fan of David Trezeguet, and even being a brat, I rate C.Ronaldo as top five winger in the world.

Trezeguets goal record is fantastic and I hope we don't sell him. When he's in the box his finishing is deadly.
Anybody that scores the winning penalty, in a WC quater final, against England is ok by me .
