malouda is pacey and decent with the ball... but the times i have watched him, he just doesnt understand how to use that raw ability effectively--he is a very timid player that would probably get beaten up in the EPL. he is almost 27 now, and i dont know if that gives him a whole lot of room to elevate his game... i feel like united should stay away from him as there are better options.

Chelsea rival Man Utd, Spurs for Sneijder
tribalfooball.com - April 06, 2007

Chelsea have joined Premiership interest for Ajax midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The Holland international is in the form of his life this season, which has attracted the attention of Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Chelsea football chief Frank Arnesen is weighing up a move for Sneijder as concerns continue over the long-term future at Stamford Bridge of Dutch winger Arjen Robben.

Pique unenthusiastic about Man Utd return
tribalfooball.com - April 06, 2007

Real Zaragoza defender Gerard Pique has shown little enthusiasm about returning to Manchester United when his loan expires at the end of the season.
The Spanish youngster told DiarioSport: "I do not know if I will return. In fact, the least I know the better. Legally I am a player of Manchester United and for next season I must return to play with them. I know they are interested in me returning.

"But as for myself, I am very happy in Zaragoza."

Man Utd's Evans keen on Sunderland stay
tribalfooball.com - April 06, 2007

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans admits he fancies returning next season on-loan at Sunderland.

"Definitely. I don't know what United's plans are for me yet but I've enjoyed it so much that I would definitely think about staying here next season if Sunderland wanted me and United let me," said the centre-half.

"I would rather be playing every week than sitting on the bench. You have to have faith in your own ability, but you also have to be realistic and when you look at the number of established defenders there are at Old Trafford, you have to accept that as a 19-year-old learning your trade, you're not going to be keeping them out of the team every week and it's only going to be every so often that you're going to get games."

Sunderland keen to hold onto Man Utd's Simpson
tribalfooball.com - April 06, 2007

Sunderland boss Roy Keane hopes to extend the loan deal for Manchester United fullback Danny Simpson beyond the end of this season.
The Journal says Keane plans to discuss with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson extending both Simpson and Jonny Evans' stay into next term.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I dunno about Sneijder, he looks too slight to fit in in the middle of the park in the Premiership.

As for the other 3, I would hate to see us lose any of them, especially Evans. Loans are fine but we might be loaning them out too much.

With all this interest in left sided wingers, are we watching the last few games of giggsys career?

No I don't think so, he's been doing great this season and he still has at least a year to run on his contract.

I do think it's coming to the end of his career as a regular left winger though, he's played CM and CF quite regularly over the last season and a bit.

well we all know he is nearing the end of his career,at least maybe another 1 or 2 seasons.so of course we will seek wingers in order to cover him, so far we only have 3 wingers including him.another winger will be a great addition to the squad.

its just the same as in the engine room, we got carrick and hope fully owen, that makes up the cover for paul and keane.

Franck Ribery has revealed he has an agreement with Marseille's majority shareholder and other club officials which will allow him to leave at the end of the season.

The French international is being strongly linked with a summer exit from the Stade Velodrome, with clubs across Europe known admirers of the playmaker.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all strong candidates to sign Ribery, although l'OM have slapped a €20million (£13.5million) price tag on their star.

Ribery is desperate to play UEFA Champions League football next season and the 24-year-old has an agreement with majority shareholder Robert Louis-Dreyfus to let him depart in the summer.

"No club has contacted me directly," Ribery told L'Equipe. "And if my agent or my club has been contacted I don't want to know it before the end of the season.

"I ask my agent not to tell me anything. My priority is to finish the best with Marseille.

"Has Robert Louis-Dreyfus given me his agreement to let me leave in the summer? Yes and the officials did too. I trust them to fulfil their commitment.

"Do I want to leave in June? Very honestly, it will depend on Champions League qualification.

"I also would like to discover new foreign leagues like England or Spain. But you can understand I can't talk a lot about that."

Ribery, who has recently returned from a month out with a broken foot, hopes Marseille will finish in the top three and claim a spot in next season's Champions League.

"We have eight matches remaining and I keep faith for Champions League qualification," he added. "Third position is just a few points away.

"I say it clearly: I want to play in the Champions League, it is my main personal aim."

Brescia starlet Marek Hamsik has confessed his boyhood dream is to play for Manchester United.

The Slovakian teenager has impressed in Serie B this season, scoring five goals in 28 appearances.

He has been watched by several of Europe's top clubs, including Premiership leaders United, along with Chelsea and Liverpool.

Milan, Internazionale, Barcelona and Real Madrid have also scouted the 19-year-old this season, who has been rated in the €8million (£5.3million) category.

But, given a choice, it would appear that Hamsik has his heart set on moving to Old Trafford and linking up with Sir Alex Ferguson's squad, if Brescia decide to sell in the summer.

"When I was a child I always wanted to play for Manchester United," Hamsik told Mediaset.

"I'd like to one day be able to play in England.

"Everything is beautiful there - the stadia, supporters and football too."

Theres another two.

Steve Sidwell, too, in this morning's papers (the Mirrior and the Mail).

Quote:
Manchester United are ready to fight Chelsea for the signature of Reading contract rebel Steve Sidwell.

Quote:
Manchester United and Spurs are to join Chelsea in the chase for Reading star Steve Sidwell.

If we were to get Sidwell, that could have implictions on the Hargreaves interest. We could be flexing our muscles there, showing Bayern that we have other midfield possibillities.

That Marek Hamsik is an unknown to me, but Ribery I really wouldn't like us to sign.

There's always been loads of players linked with us. I can remember in the past, enough players were linked with us to form a squad! but the difference here, i think, is that it's outside the window that transfers are being harped on about. I don't mind transfer rumours at all, gives you something to think about.

Yeah, but I remember us being linked with this number of players and more before. It is generally more players after the World Cup, I find.

Does anyone have any views on Steve Sidwell? Or does anyone know that Hamsik?

Well I've just found out that Hamsyk is a central midfielder. That's it, the fruit of my research.

Picture this people: Ronaldo on the right wing, Robben on the left. now that would be devastating. Any news on wether we're preparing a bid yet? HE's unsettled and i thought that at least there would be a rumor of a bid but so far nothing on my part

Chelsea would never sell Robben to us.

And I don't want him at United, he had his chance, he chose Chelsea. Besides being a twat he's always injured.

Sampdoria confirm Man Utd bid for Quagliarella
tribalfooball.com - April 08, 2007

Sampdoria sports director Beppe Marotta has revealed an offer has arrived from Manchester United for star striker Fabio Quagliarella.
The new Italy cap, 23, is co-owned by Samp and Udinese and has been followed by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson for the last two months.

Marotta revealed last night to Tutto Mercato Web: "I can now confirm the offer from Manchester United, but it only represents one of several possibilities

"We will have to do our accounts with Udinese, the joint owner of his contract, and consider the will of the player ahead of such important offers.

"Quagliarella has a 50-60% chance of remaining with Sampdoria. If it was up to me, I believe he would improve quicker remaining in Genoa."
