Should Ronaldo leave Manchester United the club have earmarked Atletico Madrid's Argentine wonderkid Sergio Aguero to replace the winger. (Daily Star)
Don't believe that for a second, great player, but another short striker for a winger?

Well positionally, fair enough. But in terms of what they give to a squad, Aguero and Ronaldo aren't that disimilar at all. Aguero is an exciting talent, and I wouldn't mind him at all.
If Ronaldo were to leave, I wouldn't be all that surprised if his "replacement" were a less high-profile signing than the forward. It wouldn't be the fitst time we responded to a sale with a little shuffling.

Manchester United are the BIGGEST club in the world, BAR NONE.
Real Madrid seem to think that they can poach our players.
Yes, Ronny is a Real fan, and he will play for them some time in the future, but he will not desert us now, believe me.
I think we should buy the following players: -
Micah Richards - Exceptional talent already living in Manchester. Gaz is very close to finishing and he'll give a good fight to Wes for the RB slot. £20m should do it.
Lionel Messi - Irrespective of whether Ronny stays or leaves, we are the BIGGEST club in the world. Therefore, we should be buying the best players, and Messi is second only to Ronny. £30m should do it.
Aaron Ramsey - I've never seen the kid play, but the media don't normally get it wrong. He's quality and worth a £7m bid.
Roque Santa Cruz - I have swayed towards buying this guy because he will score more goals than Berbatov. Berbatov is better technically, but Cruz is a better finisher. £12m should secure him.
So £69m should be spent IMO. We could recoup £5m for Saha and £6m for Pique, leaving a deficit of £58m. The Premier and Champions League wins will pay for that.
It's very important also that we match, and overtake, Liverpool's achievements. We will do this.
BELIEF COMES FIRST !!!!

As good as Villa is, do we really need another 5'9 forward? He's by far a better finisher than either Rooney or Tevez, but I'd prefer someone with some size. I'd love to see us go after Mario Gomez.

I haven't seen much of Gomez but he looks a good size and seems highly rated so as long as it's a decent price I think he'd be a good option.
Although it doesn't look like the Premiership is on his radar.
I don't know about Villa, I'm a bit torn... he might not be the tallest striker, but he can play up front alone (with good support, which he'd get at United) and he scores so many. He's not the big man target that we say we need, but he is prolific and would suit our style of play.
I don't see it happening, but I would be pretty pleased if it happened, certainly wouldn't be disappointed.

Horst Heldt, VfB President, put a 40m € clause on Gomez.. Not sure you consider that a decent price
But he is a quality player, would be amazing for you.
Apparently he is a Barça fan though, so he probably either stays at VfB, moves to Bayern or Barça.

Whether or not Ronaldo leaves, United should focus on landing their target man - Huntelaar or Fabiano for example - how I wish United had made a serious effort to sign Afonso Alves when they had the chance! United haven't appeared to even cast a glance in the direction of Jo, which does puzzle me somewhat given that he is young, fast and tall - and by all accounts a fairly solid prospect.
When it's all said and done, I still think that Huntelaar should be United's priority target for the summer, regardless of what happens with the Ronaldo saga.

I'm not so sure about Huntelaar anymore tbh, he seems the loyal type but he's already said Real would be his preferred destination and I cba for another of these situations if at all avoidable

just great, and lets say when he is banging the goal when and if we do buy him, and one stinking reporter from marca is enough to hand us another dejavu "saga" all over
