it would probably be wiser to just invest in a natural rb rather than change a lb imo Doug.
and the rumours are now that southampton dont want to sell him but if they do theyll sell him to utd who will let him stay on loan at southampton for 18 months

We won't buy him. The rumours says thay it's a loan deal. But we won't sign him anyway. We don't need that crap player. We already have Duff, N'Zogbia and Milner.

Argentinian defender Ezequiel Garay claims he is being tracked by Manchester United. (News of the World)
Atletico Madrid have admitted that they expect Fernando Torres to exit the club leaving Manchester United in pole position to capture the Spain striker in a £27m deal. (News of the World)
Manchester United could lure Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura to Old Trafford. (People)

I would prefer Torres of the 3, Garay is a cb and although he has an awesome fk I'm not convinced he'd replace either Vidic or Rio.
and Nakamura must be 28/29 by now, great technique but at that age we should be looking a little bit more longterm as we still have Giggs.

Nakamura could well appeal to the Glazers. Good player, but I don't think we need him.
Torres will probably sign this summer, along with Hargreaves.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane will move for John O'Shea, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Thomas Gravesen if the Black Cats make it back to the Premiership. (People, News of the World)
Manchester United and Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Wolves winger Michael Kightly just months after he joined the club from Conference side Grays (News of the World).
No way will we sell O'Shea and Ole, 2 legends!

Yeah, that never came true unfortunately, I think Tottenham have been linked with him more recently which is more feasible, considering they have no natural left-footers playing regularly (even Y.P. Lee is the most right footed player ever playing lb) and they like signing young english "talent"

Solskjaer and O'Shea will go nowhere.Solskjaer will end his career in United and so can O'Shea. You can't get a better squad player than O'Shea. He always do a decent job in any position Sir Alex choose to use him.

Tottenham have looked for a left winger for a long time now. It's more realistic he ends up in Spurs.

Rumours: March 07
With Henrik Larsson's loan set to end and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recovering from knee surgery, the tabloids are again starting to link United with some of Europe's top strikers.
After rumours resurfaced of interest in Fernando Torres last month, The People have tipped United to be in the hunt for Barcelona goal machine Samuel Eto'o.
The Cameroon striker has been linked with the Nou Camp exit door time and again in recent weeks, and rumours suggest that he covets a move to Old Trafford.
Eto'o isn't the only La Liga star to be on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar, apparently. Racing Santander defenders Ruben Gonzalez and Ezequiel Garay have allegedly caught the eye of several clubs, including United.
Long-term target Nani, of Sporting Lisbon, is also named by several sources, while Arsenal's Manu Adebayor claims he is aware of interest from United.

I'm not sure about Eidur any more, he's too slow to play up front for us.

Once again, I would give Dean Ashton a shout. Not this summer, but if he gets back to form, he'll be a good acquisition.
Hargreaves is a cert. We all know that.
We do need a striker though, and I would go for Berbatov. Technically brilliant, good in the air, and a perfect foil for Wazza.............
Discuss.

berbatov is fantastic, but i dont believe he would be a great buy for united... i think this for one reason: he is slow. currently, uniteds attack is built on pace, and he wouldnt fit in

I don't think Berbatov is that slow, he just looks it cos he's quite lanky, he'd be a great buy, his interchanges with Rooney would be great but I don't think Spurs will sell him.
Also, with Bentley maintaing his great form, maybe he wouldn't be such a bad buy after all, he's still U21 and has loads of talent.
