Liverpool's scouting department... the same scouts that passed on the opportunity to sign Ronaldo for £3M when he was 17?

Yeah I'm sure Ferguson is desperate to have scouts like that on his side

nice one kyan.that will shut some scouts from some where

a winger a forward a back 4.3 targets.1 expensive and 2 middle ones will do ehhh.

As fringe players, I think so. But the prices have gotten a lot higher than the original report, so I doubt it'l happen. It's not like we need another CM in Palacios.

The figures being bandied about are far too high, like unitedfan pointed out.

Both players are still quite young, Valencia being 22 and Palacios 23. But they're still older than our upcoming youngsters.

Palacios is decent, but not close to United starting material, at least not yet. But for something like £8M I don't think it's worth it, we have Darron Gibson out on loan at Wolves, we should give him a chance first...

Valencia... I guess maybe it depends on what happens with Giggs, either this summer or next we'll need another winger, not necessarily to start but to rotate at least with Park & Nani. Valencia has potential and could be in with a shout but there may be better options again...

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, today we've been linked with:

Man Utd are lining up a move for Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano who has scored 33 goals in 38 games for Sevilla this season. (Daily Mail)

Goal.com - Manchester United - Fabiano Tops United's Transfer Targets - Report

I'm unsure on this, he's a volatile character and it took him a long time to settle in Spain, and he didn't manage to settle at Porto... But maybe he'd be worth a shot if it's only for £7M which is apparently his minimum fee release clause.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Ajax forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be a £16m target for Manchester United if they cannot lure Berbatov from Spurs. (Daily Express)

Goal.com - Manchester United - Huntelaar Linked With Man Utd

Contradictory stories coming from Huntelaar's camp... Yesterday the rumour mill was saying he'd turn down a move to United to stay at Ajax to work under van Basten.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Goal.com - Manchester United - Roma Furious As United 'Poach' Petrucci

I don't know anything about the kid, and it's not easy to find anything out on the internet either...

Anyone?

Manchester United have made the first move in an attempt to sign Michael Owen from Newcastle for £7m. (News of the World)

Goal.com - Manchester United - United Chasing Owen?

Again another £7M man... not a bad price, not quite the big CF we need but still a goal-getter like none of our other strikers. We'll have to just wait and see if this is to help him get a better new contract at Newcastle or if it's for real though.

Owen is one man I would really not want to see us sign. I doubt it'l happen anyway. Last thing we need is anither injury prone forward. Owen's past his best anyway, imo.

You need a striker with physical presence.

100% agreed.he isnt the goal poacher like he used to be wth the dippers.for mid table club he could do wonders for them but for us, wayne and tevez out clases him in more then one way.

In interview yesterday Fergie said there was no truth in any interest in Mickey Owen.

On the other hand, looks like Chelsea have just signed a player I wanted to see at United:

If Silvestre leaves though I'm sure Ferguson would bring someone new in, although we'd have the Brazilian twins coming in too I think.

Today we're again linked with Luis Fabiano, apparently top of the transfer target list for United. I don't think I want this to happen.

I really don't think Owen is what we need right now. I would like to see another big name for depth, as I don't like pulling Ronaldo off of wing when we are shallow.

Not a good day in terms of rumours, we could be losing two very good defensive prospects.

Silvestre Tempted By Bordeaux Interest

Quote:
Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has admitted that he is tempted to turn back the time by making an emotional return to Ligue 1.

Earlier in the week, French daily sports paper L'Equipe revealed that Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is targeting an attacking midfielder and a left back, with Silvestre reportedly being the dream candidate for the latter.

Silvestre, in turn, has admitted that he is intrigued by the prospect of starring for the club he supported since his boyhood days.

"It is not impossible - Bordeaux, it's the club of my heart," said the 30-year-old, who will be out of contract next summer.

"When I was small, I followed their exploits in Europe. Moreover I have got family in the [area] Gironde."

In his latest comments, Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud refused to be drawn out on the Silvestre speculation directly, but was keen to stress that his club are aiming high.

“We can say that plenty of names are going to circulate and at the end some of them will be right,” he said.

“We are just starting to think (about targets), Laurent Blanc leads it.

“Today it is too early to say that we have decided who our priority recruits are for next season.

“That is wrong. There are some possibilities, propositions are made to us, other ones we directly study.

“I want the team to be ready before the pre-season starts.

“Playing the Champions League helps to us attract players, even if Bordeaux have always been attractive.

“But it is less easy for the financial negotiations, because some clubs tell themselves ‘They play in the Champions League, they have money, we will take advantage of it.’”

Goal.com - Manchester United - Silvestre Tempted By Bordeaux Interest

Silvestre commenting on the rumour, seems like he's relatively keen on it, be a shame to see him go but he's barely played in the last 2 years through injuries and we need LB cover anyway.

Manchester United striker Louis Saha admits he will be put up for sale after the Champions League final. (Various)

Confirming what we already know...

Ferguson Raises Ramsey Bid To £10M

Quote:
Manchester United have reportedly increased their offer to FA Cup finalists Cardiff City for teenage prodigy Aaron Ramsey in an attempt to outbid rivals Liverpool.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to offer £10million for Cardiff's highly-rated teenage midfielder Aaron Ramsey to head off a late move by Liverpool, says the Daily Mirror.

Ferguson is apparently bidding £5million up-front for Ramsey, but according to inside sources at Old Trafford, says the Mirror, extra performance-based payments could double that figure.

United are also prepared to loan the 17-year-old back to the Bluebirds for a season to help Cardiff manager Dave Jones as he attempt to steer the Welsh club back to the top-flight after an absence of 47 years.

The raised offer from Old Trafford is believed to be aimed at blocking an attempt by Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez to sign Ramsey - who will be in Cardiff's squad for Wembley today - after learning he used to support the Reds.

Ferguson's initial bid - and the offer to loan him back to City for a season - had already - reportedly - squeezed Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Aston Villa out of the hunt.

Goal.com - Transfer Zone - Ferguson Raises Ramsey Bid To £10M

Big big money for a 17-year-old. Not sure what to think about this, I haven't seen him play at all...
