No other surprises today:
Manchester United contacted Tottenham about signing Dimitar Berbatov four weeks ago, but they are thought to want to sign him in the summer rather than now (Times).
Chelsea could hijack Manchester United's interest with a £26m offer for Berbatov (The Sun).
Real Madrid will focus their efforts on signing Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer (Mirror and Express)
Real can focus all they want, they're not getting him this summer...
As for Vucinic, maybe he's friends with Vidic.... he'd be a decent, cheap 4th choice striker.

The way he's looking at Roma, he could become 5th choice coming here. On loan for a couple of months, to cover for injuries or something like that, maybe, but signing him would be completely pointless.

I don't think Vucinic is that bad, he has had a few good moments with Roma this season. Yes he is not Utd class, but he would be a pretty decent back up.
At least a lot less injury prone than your current back up -- Saha

I'm certain we could get a much better player than Vucinic, without spending too much more. Vucinic is co-owned, which means that even if he's on the fringes of Roma's side, Lecce may have a different valuation. As Isay, a loan wouldn't be out of the question on our part, but frankly, I'd rather go with the completely unknown that is Manucho, then take the proven failure Vucinic. Yeah, a little harsh on an international at a top level club, but an honest opinion.

wiat a minute, why are we going too deep in to vucinic again??.ive seen him play in front of my eyes and he isnt what united need, nor roma.unless he could go back to his days b4 joining roma then he would be in contention.back then he was top of his game but now if roma did get another striker he would be down the pecking order wch i do hope roam get some one.

A scouser telling us who to buy, dont make me laugh. When you win the EPL then have a word until then keep dreaming.

From Sky Sports News:
Quote:
Porto have placed a 30million euros price tag on defender Jose Bosingwa, who is rumoured to be a target of Manchester United and Aston Villa.
Bosingwa has reportedly caught the eye of United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Villa boss Martin O'Neill, who could both be keen to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old impressed in Porto's UEFA Champions League performances this season as the Portuguese champions finished above Liverpool in Group A.
However, Porto insist they do not want Bosingwa to leave the Estadio do Dragao and have issued the 30m euros (£22m) hands off warning.
"Only if we arrive at this proposition would we be interested in studying the possible exit," a Porto spokesman told the Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola.
"We are calm because the defender enters into our plans and nobody has presented an offer to Porto for Bosingwa."

Yeah - can we have Hutton for £8m now? Cheers.

Bosingwa is a Portuguese international, the starting RB for the NT. You'll have a chance to see him during the Euro or if you like, against Schalke in CL.
He may not be worth 30m €, but he is a class player. Between 20-25m would be fairer

The price tag can be explained by the fact that he is a starter for Porto and Portugal, is in top form, is one of the best RB in the world and because Porto don't need to sell their players, we only accept offers that no one in their right state of mind could reject

I might have misunderstood what u meant by this but in England there isn't a non-eu player quota, as long as the players can get a work permit (have to have played in a large percentage of their national teams last 16 or so games, although I think it varies depending on how high the country is in FIFA rankings cos Mark Gonzalez struggled with that when Liverpool tried to get him) or be deemed to have "exceptional talent" (a la Anderson)) then u can have as many non-EU players as u like.
Also it looks like we're going to miss out on Hutton to Spurs according to BBC Scotland, which is a strange one anyway imo cos Chimbonda is quality, although maybe Ramos wants him at CB.

Well stated bud. You want something that someone does not want to sell ? You have to overpay. Is it too much ? Ya I think so but that is what you get when you dont accept no for an answere. Ask for too much.
