Unfortunately I think Gabby is on his way.
Don't think he enjoys being second fiddle to Evra.
Shame really, cannot fault Gabby's enthusiasm for the game BUT then again when he did cover for Evra he was caught short a number of times.
Not sure if this was because he was a little rusty from his injury, but having Evra play amazingly well over the season has probably made his decision to move.
We will have Mr 50p head (Silvestre, not heard anything about him for a long time) to cover and there is always O'Shea.
Interesting point about Saviola though. Quality finisher who is available on a free transfer.... could be ideal for this summer and look at Huntelaar next year when he thinks its time to move on.

TROTTERS: UNITED DON'T WANT ANELKA
Bolton chairman Phil Gartside says Manchester United don't want to sign Nicolas Anelka.
The French striker was linked with a shock move to Old Trafford on Friday as the Premiership champions look to wrap up their summer spending by landing a top hitman.
And Anelka, who arrived at the Reebok Stadium in an £8million deal last summer, admitted over the weekend that he "could not say no" to a move to Old Trafford.
But Gartside says the former Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City star won't be Sir Alex Ferguson's next big signing.
He says he's had talks with United chief executive David Gill, who told him he isn't planning a bid for Anelka.
Gartside told Bolton's official website: "David Gill has confirmed to me that Manchester United has no interest in Nicolas Anelka.
"Sammy Lee is looking to build a squad for next season and we absolutely have no interest in selling any of our better players. Nicolas, of course, is one such player."

Can't say I'm disappointed (or surprised); was never keen on the idea of Anelka at OT anyway.

Some good news
SMITH NOT LOOKING FOR UNITED EXIT
Alan Smith says he'll fight for his Old Trafford place and wants to stay at Manchester United.
The Premiership champions spent around £40million last week on Anderson, Nani and Owen Hargreaves - and a striker appears to be next on Sir Alex Ferguson's summer shopping list.
With that in mind it looked like Smith could be the odd man out next season, but the former Leeds man has no intention of giving up on his career with the Red Devils.
He told the Manchester Evening News: "You know at Manchester United that every year they will sign world-class players. It's an education that makes you mentally strong.
"You know players will come in and that you are not guaranteed to play any games, week in, week out. But this year I came back and played in a Champions League game against Roma and it was probably one of my best performances in a United shirt.
"But you know you are still not guaranteed a start the following Saturday, and that makes you mentally strong. That is probably how I got through my injuries.
"It's a short career and you have to try to take every opportunity when it comes. That's how I was brought up; how I've been since I was a kid. I will never lose that."
Everton, Tottenham, Middlesbrough and Sunderland are all reportedly interested in swooping for Smith if United put him up for sale.
But after bravely battling back from that serious injury at Anfield in early 2006, he's hoping that he'll get a new Old Trafford contract rather than a new club.
"I have a contract re-negotiation coming up," he added.
"I was due contract talks last year and we decided, the club and myself, that I wouldn't do that when I was injured, because it wasn't fair on them.
"But now I am fit and ready to commit my future. I want to stay at United.
"My agent has spoken with the club and the talks should happen in the next few weeks."

Man Utd swoop for Irish superkid ahead of Liverpool
tribalfooball.com - June 03, 2007
Manchester United are swooping for Irish superkid Shay Brady.
The Sunday Mirror says the 16-year-old is already in the first team at St Patrick's in the Irish League, and United are prepared to sign him on a £5,000-aweek deal in January when he is 17.
But Liverpool are fierce rivals for the Republic of Ireland youth international, and even invited him to the Champions League Final.

Man Utd urged to check on 'Hungarian Ronaldo'
tribalfooball.com - June 03, 2007
The agent of Hungarian teenager Roland Varga has urged Manchester United to make a move for the 17 year-old.
The MTK Budapest striker, who has been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo, has just had recent trials with Tottenham and is interesting a host of major European clubs.
"We'd be happy if Manchester United wanted to sign him, but they haven't shown interest in Roland so far," Varga's agent Nandor Bognar told obudaisport.hu.
However, Bognar said he has had trials with a string of top clubs, and wants to prove himself outside of youth teams.
"He's just come home from Tottenham Hotspur and before this he had a trial with Scottish side Hearts, English team Reading and Spanish side Espanyol.
"He had to prove his abilities among older players because - I hope I don't seem to be too stuck-up - he 'outgrew' the football of his age group."
He added: "So far, we haven't received any detailed offers."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No big news today...

Sorry guys, but even the n.o 1 authority on the Irish League is stumped.
I've never heard of him and I question his existence. I've checked St. Patrick's Atheletic's roster and last 5 League matches, as well as 5of their most recent friendlies - no appearances. If he's not fiction, he must still be in the youth team, which I'll consequently check.

The only St Pats players in that Irish U18 squad are Noel Haverty and Derek Foran. Shay Brady doesn't appear in any of the Saints' Senior, U21 or, so far in my search, U17s matches, let alone for the Irish. If his teams down wrong in the media, that would explain the void that surrounds his name.
Edit:
And apparentley there's Robert Brady in the U15s, not to mention 2 retired Bradys, Liam, an Arsenal retiree and his uncle Frank. But Shay? Appears once in any squad with, that's right, Shay Given. Shay Brady obviously was an incredible player, better than anything this Earth has ever seen. So good, in fact, that the Martians decided to take him away to play in the League of Galaxies, for team Milky Way, who often consist of Martians, for their 5 legs, and Neptunians, for their magic powers. They abstein from using Earthly players untill we cut out the greenhouse gases, but Jupiter-folk smuggle in the odd Irishman and try and sell him off and a Jupiterman, in order to get some of their planetman in the Milky Way Squad, as most of their players are terrible and hardly ever get in the squad. Solution? Steal from Earth. Intergalactic f'ers.
Researching for more than 30minutes makes my head hurt.

I have a feeling people are gonna be uncomfortable replying to that, so I'll post this Tribal BS:

Ranieri wants Man Utd's Rossi at Eastlands
tribalfooball.com - June 03, 2007
Claudio Ranieri intends to raid Manchester United for Giuseppe Rossi should he be named as Manchester City manager.
The Daily Star Sunday says the Italian was favourite to replace Stuart Pearce once the takeover by former Thai President Thaksin Shinawatra goes through.
And Manchester United striker Rossi is top of his shopping list, with City ready to offer £3.5million for the striker.
Ranieri is a massive fan of the American born frontman, who helped him save Parma from relegation from Serie A this term. Rossi is not expected to feature much at United next season with Wayne Rooney, Alan Smith, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Louis Saha all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Hmmm not Eastlands..... could be in Turin though!!
JUVE APPOINT RANIERI
Juventus have confirmed Claudio Ranieri as their new coach and handed the former Chelsea and Valencia boss a three-year contract.
Former Chelsea manager Ranieri left his role at Parma last week after leading the club to Serie A safety and had been widely tipped to join Manchester City.
However, Juventus have beaten City to the punch and installed Ranieri as the successor to Didier Deschamps, who left the Turin-based club after leading them back to Serie A at the first attempt.
Juve last week clinched the Serie B title with a 2-0 win over Mantova to ensure an immediate return to the top flight just a year after they were relegated for match-fixing.
Deschamps and the club decided to "amicably separate" just hours after the triumph, which came courtesy of goals from David Trezeguet and Pavel Nedved.
Juve promoted assistant coach Giancarlo Corradini to lead the first team until the end of the season.
Marcello Lippi was reportedly a front-runner for the Bianconeri hot-seat but the club turned to 'Tinkerman' Ranieri after failing in attempts to lure the Italian World Cup winning-coach out of retirement.
Ranieri will be presented to the media later on Monday but a statement on the Juve website outlined their delight at having snared the 55-year-old.
It read: "Claudio Ranieri has signed a contract which will see him tied to the club from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2010.
"For Juventus, this is the best possible choice to achieve the aims set out by the club's tradition.
"Ranieri is a man of great experience and international vision. He is able to carry out the sporting project approved by the administrative council."
The Rome-born tactician started his managerial career with Pozzuoli-based Campania in 1987 before making his name with Cagliari by getting the club promoted to the top flight.
After further spells in his homeland with Napoli and Fiorentina, Ranieri tried his luck in Spain and enjoyed a two-year stint at the Valencia helm during which time he won the 1997 Copa del Rey and guided the club into the Champions League.
A brief period at Atletico Madrid followed before Ranieri headed to England to join Chelsea in 2000.
Heavily backed in the transfer market at Stamford Bridge, particularly after the 2003 arrival of billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, Ranieri ultimately failed to deliver on the pitch and was replaced by Jose Mourinho in May 2004.
Ranieri was out of work for just over a week before returning to Valencia, although his three-year contract with Los Che proved insignificant when he was sacked the following February with the club in sixth spot and out of the Champions League.
He took up the reins at Parma in February 2007 after two years out of work, and successfully helped the club retain their top-flight status.

Rossi should stay, seriously, he's been prolific everywhere he's been (when he's started) so we may as well give him a chance in the Premiership, we have nothing to lose in giving him a go because he has the potential to become a massive hit anyway....
