Well, according to newspaper reports (which we all know are completely accurate, right) - Eto'o would prefer playing in front of the Kop. So ... does that mean that Liverpool make the move for him? If so, that could clear the way for United to try to convince Torres to make the move to OT (unless Liverpool pull off the double and sign both)

Silvestre eager to stay

Mikael Silvestre has dismissed speculation about a summer exit from Manchester United.

The French defender, who has been out since March with a dislocated shoulder, struggled to get in the Manchester United side at times this season due to the emergence of Patrice Evra and return to fitness of Gabriel Heinze.

Reports have suggested Silvestre could decide to move on before the start of the new season, and he has been linked with a switch to Lyon.

However, Silvestre has told fans that just because he has been out of sight for the past few weeks, it does not mean he is planning to leave Old Trafford.

He insists he is happy in Manchester and is determined to make an impact next season.

"If you're not in the team or appearing on television, people tend to think you're dead!" Silvestre said in the News of the World.

"But I can assure them that I am not and I'll be out to prove that next season.

"I have two years left on my contract and the manager did everything to keep me at the club last summer. I have no reason to believe anything has changed.

"He even told me recently that he still has full confidence in me, so I will definitely be here next year.

"I see my future with the club for as long as the manager still wants me in his team."

Actually, I see Tevez as a more likely replacement for Eto'o than Torres. I can't see Atletico or Torres agreeing on a move to another club in Spain. If Eto'o goes (most likely to Liverpool if press reports are to be believed) then Barca will have plenty of cash to start shopping around ....

Nani states move aim

Manchester United and Tottenham target Nani is keen on a move to the Premiership.

The Sporting Lisbon winger, dubbed the next Cristiano Ronaldo and aiming to follow in his countryman's footsteps, claims he has made his future intentions clear to his club.

Reports suggest Martin Jol and Sir Alex Ferguson are vying for Nani's signature and the 20-year-old would like to be given permission to speak with a suitor should the right offer come along.

"Sporting know my opinion about this subject. If an offer arrives which offers a good opportunity then I want to talk about it," Nani told the Daily Mirror.

"Going to England is one of my options because the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and it will be a big challenge. But I have not spoken or made up my mind about any one club.

"I am prepared to go to England because I believe I would progress there."

I thought Nani had sign a new contract with Sporting Lisbon...Shouldn't that mean he prefer to stay...

£12m is not a bad price - if United are serious about signing Nani, then they should close this deal ASAP.

I don't think Nani has actually signed a new deal. If that is the case, then if he is determined to leave, Sporting Lisbon may be willing to accept slightly less than his true market value rather than lose him on a Bosman next summer or whenever his contract runs out ...

they got bale for £10m, and if sporting did sell nani for £12m to spurs il be pissed coz if we wanted him and had to pay more.

with bale sold, there is a handful more names linked with us.owen is on the verge i think, apart from him lets name some of sure shot or close call that might be our next signings.
