Default Wenger: "No more Fergie talk"

Quote:
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger angrily responded to Sir Alex Ferguson's jibe that he did not expect him ``to ever apologise'' for his players' behaviour following the infamous food fight at Old Trafford.

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat at Bolton, Wenger said: ``I have always been consistent with that story and told you nothing happened in the corridor.

``One thing is very simple. I will never answer any question any more about this man (Ferguson).

``If he has to talk, he talks.

``If he wants to make a newspaper article, he makes a newspaper article.

``He doesn't interest me and doesn't matter to me at all.

``I will never answer to any provocation from him any more.''

Ferguson told The Independent: ``In the tunnel he [Wenger] was publicly criticising my players, calling them cheats.

``I was told about this when they came into the dressing-room, so I went out into the tunnel and said to him: `You get in there and behave yourself, leave my players alone'.

``He came sprinting towards me with his hands raised saying: 'What do you want to do about it?' He was standing right there.

``To not apologise for the behaviour of the players to another manager is unthinkable. It is a disgrace. But I don't expect Wenger to ever apologise.''

Wenger refused to say whether he raised his hands but added: ``He does what he does in England anyway. Go abroad one day and see how it is.''

personally I pray wenger is telling the truth (doubt it in this case) cause I'm sooo bored of this 'mind games' shite
press boosts it as though its some freudian genius level banter
when the reality is its just becoming embarrasing

In 10 years when fergie and wenger are gone(well they could still be there) and we will look back at this time, it be great to remember the fergie vs wenger war of words. Now that twat mourinho is coming into it, he really is pissing me off. I just dont like his attitude what so ever, he thinks he is right about everything. The carling cup match he complained in the 2nd half man united were getting all the free kick decisions when the stats showed chelski actually had 2 more free kicks.

The fact is we the fans will never know the actual truth unless they all admit it. I personally aint bothered, they should keep all the secrets in the changing rooms where they belong. No need for fergie to start all this but the fact arsenal were sore losers, is the only reason i think its got to him and he had to go out and say all this.

You sure?

`In the tunnel he [Wenger] was publicly criticising my players, calling them cheats.
thats true

``I was told about this when they came into the dressing-room, so I went out into the tunnel and said to him: `You get in there and behave yourself, leave my players alone'.
as the first bit is true this probably is

``He came sprinting towards me with his hands raised saying: 'What do you want to do about it?' He was standing right there.
not to sure but considering what else happened it isn't too unlikely

'`To not apologise for the behaviour of the players to another manager is unthinkable. It is a disgrace. But I don't expect Wenger to ever apologise.''
If the arsenal players acted as has been reported then an apologise isn't too much to ask.

I suppose I'd have to agree. These are men. THat's what men would do I believe, I know I would, although the old threat of "what you gonna do?" is always a bit unfronted, and Fergie will believe he is 'rising above it' by not reacting...as some would just hit him (Arsene)

All four quotes by Russ ther are really feasible.

The only fact I have stated is that wenger called united players cheats - are you suggesting he didn't? Do you want me to find quotes of what he said about ruud to the press?

BTW guess who has been talking about fergie again today?

u stated it was a fact he called playerS cheats in the tunnel
which is not established as true at all
(he actually didn't even specifically call RVN a cheat,
he said: he can only cheat those who don't know him. He simply asserted his belief that RVN's disgusting assault on Cole was deliber8, which the FA agreed on - Ruud got a three match ban.)
but there's no record of what he said in the tunnel or of him refering to any other manure players as cheats (unlike Mourinho)

you state its true that 'they came into the dressing room'
which 'they'? which dressing room? when?
the specifics of the incident have never been established, all there is is rumour and counter rumour.
