Default Nash Joins Boro

Carlo Nash will not be on City's bench against TNS tonight after agreeing to a move to Middlebrough for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old replaces Mark Crossley, who has left for Fulham, at the Riverside. Fit again Nick Weaver and Kevin Ellegaard will battle for the number two goalkeeping slot behind David Seaman.
Nash, who cost £100,000 from Stockport, played nine Premiership games last season.

Yup, it must be down to money for Nash...

He said he would only stay if he could play first team football, and would leave in order to find first team football, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't of minded to see him as our no1 before the signing of Seaman. But he has signed for Boro, and clearly won't be there first choice, unless he fights for it, like he could of done at City!

:hey: Carlo

On mcfc.co.uk City never show the fee and always put 'undisclosed' even when Sky Sports announce it.

They would of got pittens for him anyway.

He was ok as a second string keeper, but I wouldn't have liked to go a full season with him at the helm. seamen, weaver and ellergard - I think thats a fairly strong line up. Nice guy Nash and never let us down, but I can't help thinking he rating his abiltity higher than Kev did and higher than we really saw on the pitch.

Thanks Carlo tho :hey:
