Joey Barton is quality and will be in the city squad usually whenever he is fit...

Chris Shuker signed a one year contract last season to prove himself, the first month of this season he will be playing for Rochdale. I'm not sure if he will be a city player next season, the hard work is down to him.

I agree with that, Joey Barton defo looks a great potential, tenacity in the tackle, great work rate, up and down midfielder, in the mould of Gerrard.
Shuker, I'm not so sure about, only a very small figure (not that that should stop him) just a bit lightweight, decent pace mind. You never know if he puts the hard work in.

Yup, agree with you about Shuker, Kev must of seen something in him to give him a new contract, just to see if he can prove himself.

Didn't Shuker get a couple of games season before last (Div 1) and didn't really look the part? I can't remember the games now but we were having one of our one-off get beat 3-0 at home while cruising to the title moments...

Maybe he's come on a bit, Keegan must have some hopes for him.

Sommeil plays centre half and has scored 2 league goals and 1 european goal since arriving in January.

To me, Distin is a better defender then Sommeil but Sommeil will always have more chance of scoring.

Distin (and Jihai) have me in knots sometimes. Joey looks like a young Chris Waddle (yes, I know he turned out Bobbins, but remember how good we thought he was back then?). Sommy and Sibby will both bring drive and goals. As far as Shuker goes, I think he is a class Div One player, but too lightweight, unlike SWeeP, who can't be more than 10st, yet is a running machine. Very fast, but then so is Huck......

Shuker never made it in divison one really though did he... he played a couple of games here and there because of injuries but he has consistently been a reserve regular since he turned 18 so I won't blame him for wanting out.

Joey isn't a young anybody, i've heard people say his like Gerrard, Keane and now Waddle... Joey is his own player like everyone is, and he is a great prospect, my MOM for the Rovers game.

Shauny is great but he annoyed me and i'm sure everyone else in the City end and blues at home/pub, in the first half, he tried to run the ball out but he got caught and Yorke did awful and missed the target, row z should of been his option.

Let's be honest, it was hard to pick somebody who played well against Rovers, so many people were slagging off Antonie Siberiski, I thought he did OK. Jihai played very well in my opinion, probabley the best defender that night, the only one who didn't lose the ball more then twice.
