Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel accepts that he may have to leave the club in the search for regular first-team action. The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Coventry City, played in Manchester City's first seven Premier League games of this season before being dropped in favour of Joe Hart.
"I spoke to Sven last week and explained to him that I want to play first-team football," said Schmeichel.
"He said that he can't promise me that, so if I'm honest it looks like my future might not be at City.
"I have got three years left on a good contract so I could bide my time, but I am a footballer and I want to play. It is as simple as that.
"The future is exciting. I could go anywhere in Europe to play my football - Spain, Italy or stay here in England.
"I am looking forward to it but for now I am not thinking about that. I am a Coventry player at the moment and my job is to help Coventry to be safe."

Manchester City are interested in Bolton Wanderers attacker El Hadji Diouf.
The Daily Mail says City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has identified Diouf as a summer transfer target after the former Liverpool star made it clear that he will leave the Reebok Stadium this summer.
Diouf, 27, is still under contract at Bolton but has made it clear that he wants a new challenge, whether his current club wins its fight against relegation from the Barclays Premier League or not.

Manchester City could make a double raid on CSKA Moscow in the summer. The Times says City are in advanced negotiations to sign Jo, the Brazil forward, from CSKA in a deal that could cost the club up to £20 million. Daniel Carvalho, Jo's club and international team-mate and a highly rated attacking midfield player, is thought to be another target, although any move for Diego, another Brazil playmaker, may be dependent on Werder Bremen lowering their £15million valuation.

With speculation intense that Sven-Goran Eriksson is about to part company with Manchester City, Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is reportedly being sounded out by Thaksin Shinawatra as a possible successor to the Swede.
It is being reported that World Cup winning boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, currently managing the Portugal national team, is being approached about possibly taking over at Manchester City if Sven-Goran Eriksson is leaves the club.

Real Betis goalkeeper Ricardo is wanted by Manchester City. The Mirror says Luiz Felipe Scolari, who has been offered the City job, is a major fan of Ricardo.
The player has a deal until 2011 but has fallen out with Real Betis coach Francisco Chaparro.
I doubt he will sit on the bench for City. Hart is in the England squad and is expected to be number one next season also.
