Thai to join City
Quote:
Thailand international defender Suree Sukha is set to join Manchester City.
Suree was one of three Thai players invited for a two-week trial at City by new owner Thaksin Shinawatra last month.
Kiatprawut Saiwaeo and Teerasil Dangda also linked up with Sven Goran Eriksson's side.
Suree impressed the most out of the three players and was chosen to join City on a permanent deal.
"Suree will be the first Thai player to play in the Premier League," Shinawatra's lawyer, Noppadon Pattama, announced.
"His work permit is now being processed."

I believe Eriksson didn't have much choice.

Manchester City are making a surprise £3 million move for Wigan Athletic striker Henri Camara. City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has drawn a blank in a dozen bids for strikers in the past few weeks. But he has players to offer in exchange, headed by Darius Vassell.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is ready to go out on loan. The England Under 21 star is third in the pecking order at the City of Manchester Stadium, although Andreas Isaksson's injury has meant that he has been at least part of the squad in every game so far this season.
However, Isaksson is fit again and he will compete with Kasper Schmeichel for a starting role - leaving Hart with little action to look forward to.

Bresciano keen on City move
Quote:
Mark Bresciano remains hopeful that he will win a move to Manchester City in January. The Australian international came close to making the move to Eastlands earlier in the summer after holding talks with Sven Goran Eriksson.
However, Palermo pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute after failing to agree how the fee would be paid. Eriksson has revealed his desire to rekindle a move for Bresciano when the transfer window reopens and the midfielder hopes Palermo will grant his wish to leave for England.
Fingers crossed
"I've just got to wait and see if my team in Italy release me in January," Bresciano told The Sunday Mirror. "I've got my fingers crossed."

Manchester City defender Micah Richards fancies being the club's full time captain after getting a taste as skipper earlier this month. The England right-back was handed the captain's armband when Richard Dunne was suspended for their win over Aston Villa, and the youngster has aspirations of being City's captain in the future.

Georgios Samaras has insisted that the thought of leaving Manchester City in the summer never crossed his mind. The £6million Greece international was strongly linked with a move away from the club following the arrival of new manager Sven Goran Eriksson. Eriksson gave Samaras the opportunity to talk to other clubs about a possible switch, with Middlesbrough and his former club Heerenveen interested in his services. But the 22-year-old was always determined to make a success of his City of Manchester Stadium career and after scoring a last-gasp winner against Norwich in the Carling Cup is hoping for more opportunities.

Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed he was tempted by the prospect of signing injury-prone Michael Owen in the summer. Eriksson's Manchester City side host an Owen-less Newcastle team on Saturday, and the Swede admits he was considering a close-season move for the England ace.
"We thought about it but I was afraid of the money," he said in the Guardian.
