Manchester City Manager: Sven Gøran Eriksson
Sven Gøran Eriksson
Quote:
Sven Goran Eriksson has agreed to take charge of Manchester City, according to Sky Sports News.
The Swede has been out of work since quitting as England coach last year, after the World Cup finals.
He has been linked with numerous posts all over the world, but he now seems set to return to club management by taking his first job in the Premier League.
Eriksson has been in talks with prospective new City owner Thaksin Shinawatra and a three-year deal is understood to have been agreed.
However, Eriksson's acceptance is almost certain to depend on whether Shinawatra's takeover of City is successful or not.
City's current board issued a statement regarding the Eriksson speculation, but they refused to confirm any new manager.
"The board notes the media speculation concerning the managerial position at the club," read a statement on their official website.
"Earlier today [Tuesday], UK Sports Investments Limited announced that the offer document in respect of its offer for the club was posted to shareholders.
"Discussions are ongoing with managerial candidates and once the offer becomes or is declared unconditional in all respects, the club expects to announce the appointment of a new manager."

Got them to 3 major finals?
His club record was miles ahead of Pearce and better then 3/4 of the EPL.

Have you seen Sven's record at club level? It's almost flawless. Great appointment.

He's a good club coach. Similar to Capello in many ways, but less interested in conflict Almost always plays 442. Interesting to see what he can do.

tbh I never rated Sven when he was with england, but his club record is amazing, I guess we will have to wait and see if he can do something similar with Man city.

Sven's a great signing!
Even with England he was far better than most pricks give him credit for. He just wasn't creative and couragous enough in his thinking when it came to the big games with England and got too involved with all the media junk.
His club record is even better and he will definetely improve Man City also because he will be able to get the players he wants cause everyone knows he's a good manager.

Why did you hate him? What has England got to do with you?

FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER, variously described and derided as 'brave rebels', 'irrelevant outsiders' and 'a right bunch of dicks'. Living testament to that peculiarly Mancunian talent for gazing at the world in all it's wonder, thinking for a minute, and then muttering "Nah that's bollocks. This is how we'll do it..."

OH OH OOH! It's Carrick you know! Hard to believe it's not Scholes!
