WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"They'll say all the right things. They're two intelligent guys. They're professional. But this is a story, and it's not going to go away. It's a scab that needs to be scratched only once, and God knows what will happen.”
-- Eric Wynalda, former U.S. national team star and ESPN commentator, on Los Angeles Galaxy coach Steve Sampson and Sampson’s new boss, Galaxy president and GM Alexi Lalas. Sampson, coach of the 1998 U.S. World Cup team, didn’t play Lalas, Wynalda’s roommate during the '98 finals, in any of the three games the USA played in France. (San Diego Union-Tribune)

Lalas thread
two hall of famers, ex world cup players going at each other
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"Alexi Lalas has been lying about a lot of things. ... I just don't believe him, I'm sorry, but it's only because he now has a track record of lying. And maybe that's the corporate side of things. It's one thing to have no comment on something, it's another thing to blatantly lie, and that's something Alexi Lalas needs to learn. Professionally, I'm sure he'll do the job, but all this other stuff, his credibility is a little shot."
-- Eric Wynalda, former U.S. national team star and ESPN commentator, on Alexi Lalas at first denying he was leaving Red Bull New York, then taking the job of Los Angeles Galaxy president and GM, and Lalas saying that Galaxy coach Steve Sampson and Lalas had put any bad blood they had about the 1998 World Cup behind them. Sampson, coach of the 1998 U.S. World Cup team, didn’t play Lalas, Wynalda’s roommate during the '98 finals, in any of the three games the USA played in France. (Newark Star-Ledger)
"People are going to say what they're going to say. I would be doing a disservice to my company and team to dwell on the past. I'd be the first to admit I made mistakes on the job, but I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of for anything the past three years or the past month. I love Eric. At best, he can be misguided. At worst, delusional. I'm sure I'll see him down the road and we'll talk and open up that little mind of his. Some of us have grown up and some of us haven't."
-- Lalas on Wynalda. (Newark Star-Ledger)

Blah blah blah the MLS sucks at making schedules all over the revs played 4 games between the time they faced KC twice a few weeks ago during that time KC had played no games. It happens yes they have a backloaded schedule, but really were they doing any better prior to this fixture congestion? Sounds like a bunch of crap to me.
