I'd like to see him in the epl and see how he does.
the MLS will probably screw any chance up like they did with McBride.
If I played in the MLS I would sign 1 year contracts so the off season I could do what was best for me. The league asking so much for Mcbride really hurt a guy who is in his prime.

the MLS Should never let players go on loan, that's my opinion, just remember what happen to Ben Olsen at Forest.

I guess I am thinking from the players point of view. I think all aspire to play overseas and most americans don't get the opportunity unless they get the loan out. It's not the best thing for the league except financially. But a player should have more say in their own future.

McBride did not want to transfer to England (the last run with Everton) -- the MLS said they would accomodate him, but he wanted to stay in the US. The choice was his -- again on this last time with Everton (I don't know what happened with PNE).

BethlehemFC is right McBride turned it because he didn't want to be loaned out once again, MLS and McBride had no problem going back over to England if he was transferred and had a deal to stay in one place for awhile.

I read that the fee the MLS was asking was to high.
Quote:
MLS and Columbus won't be loaning Brian McBride to Blackburn Rovers, despite manager Graeme Souness claiming that they are haggling over a loan fee for his services.
Souness noted that talks to bring McBride over on loan at Ewood Park had stalled over what he claimed was a larger fee than was paid to MLS by Everton - where the US international striker enjoyed a fruitful three-month spell.
"We were getting negative vibes last week, but we'll see what happens over the holiday period," Souness told BBC Radio Lancashire. "We've declared our interest but were asked a different fee to what Everton paid, and what Preston paid, and that stuck in our throats a bit but we'll see what happens over the next few days."

that's the excuse that being made because MLS didn't want it to hurt McBride in the future. McBride was ever going to leave on a loan, he didn't want to go over there on loan because he didn't want to do that to his family, he would lose his vaction time and part of the MLS season.

looking around the net I have seen more that states what you say above soccerman. Mcbride wants to stay at Colunbus since they are going thru a rebuild, he has had his share of play in the epl and is to settle down here.
Looking forward to the game against Denmark, he's on the roster.

They should try Bobby Convey. He is very talented and young.

Donovan I loved american Soccer
Saw on Fox World News last night, They have inquired about him.
Was just a matter of time, after all the hype of McBride and Mathis is was soon to happen, If it haden't ,Donovan should look for a new agent.

Interesting.
But it would still have to come through Bayer Leverkusen and MLS. Now that would/will be some difficult negotiations!
