4. COBI ON BOARD: Agent Cory Clemetson says Galaxy midfielder Cobi Jones has agreed to a "restructuring" of his contract and will sign today or tomorrow.

Three years ago, MLS signed Jones to a deal that Clemetson says was worth more than $600,000 annually in salary and other compensation. Tie-ins to marketing deals boosted his income considerably.

Clemetson wouldn't disclose what Jones will earn this season but confirmed he will relinquish his status as the league's highest-paid American player. Freddy Adu is set to earn $300,000 in salary and $500,000 in total compensation this season.

Jones came on as a sub in the Galaxy's 3-1 win over U.C. Santa Barbara Tuesday.

glad to see it, he is the Galaxy leader on and off the field, his presence on the bench alone is needed. He is also a hell of a player, just getting towards the end of his career.

I thought Galaxy's plans to widen the field were definite. Ryan Suarez seemed to think so when I talked to him at MLS Cup.

its only the begin, we need to keep it up
Metrostars been waiting for a stadium for the last 7 years,
we pay the highest rent per game over $80.000 dollars a game
