Mandic is probably advising him to hold out for more money elsewhere. He puts the dodgy in dodgy agents does Bernie.

I dont think he will ever get back to even close to the level he was at around 2000-2003, which is a shame, but at least Galatasaray can offer him regular and European football.

Former Liverpool winger Harry Kewell has signed a two-year contract with Turkish champions Galatasaray.

The 29-year-old Australian has been available on a free transfer since he was released by Liverpool in May after five injury-plagued seasons.

"You could say it's a new chapter," Kewell said on his move to Istanbul.

"I wanted to move on and this is the best way. I can't wait to get started, it's just what I'm looking forward to, a new challenge."

Kewell joined Liverpool from Leeds and had been linked with a move to Roma, Spartak Moscow and Portsmouth.

His switch to Galatasaray would end any possibility of Kewell being one of Australia's three over-age players at the Beijing Olympics.

Kewell was sent off playing for Leeds against Galatasaray in the 2000 Uefa Cup semi-final.

And he scored a goal and helped set up another in Australia's 3-1 win over Qatar in June that guaranteed them a place in the second round of Asian qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.

Noticed a lot of Leeds fans were pretty pissed off with him for signing with Galatasaray. Kewell was in the Leeds team when they played in Istanbul following the deaths of two Leeds fans the previous day. He described the Galatsaray fans as "animals" and said it was the worst atmosphere he has ever played in.

my input is i dont hate the guy, well not a lot. at least not a lot anymore. he already let the fans down by going to liverpool and for his greed he's spent 5 years injured. he was such a special player when he played for leeds but it all changed when he got injured. i'm at a stage now where i'd like to see him do what he could do again for one last time before he has to retire.

So the injuries more than made up for him leaving Leeds?
