Wow, Chelsea did a real smash and grab here, rarely did anything although Lampard was pretty good I thought, nice passes in Chelsea's few attacks, and then in the last minute an OG from Riise gives them the away goal and a great position.
is it just me or should Riise have been using his legs considering how close he was to the goal and that the ball was at shin-height?

1-1 FT
Riise own goal in the 94th min....
We got the away goal so I'm pleased. I don't think that Anelka even got a touch on the ball for the 5 mins he was brought on for. Well tbh I think that we played a bit better in the 1st half and they scored in the 43rd min and they just about dominated the 2nd half so the goals cancelled each other out.
Lampard and Ballack didn't play that well they were a bit anonymous, i'm pretty sure that Lampard had his mom on his mind and that is why he didn't perform as well as he normally does, e.g. he didn't clear the ball for their goal, he did give some nice passes but upfront he wasn't as clinical as he normally is. Ballack was ok but I felt that we were a bit dominated in the midfield. Drogba was by himself all night up front so the long ball didn't really work. Makelele made a few mistakes but he was pretty decent. Essien was a big loss but he will be back for the next leg which is very important. Cech, Terry and Carvalho were pretty solid, Petr made some really important saves and he kept us in the game. Malouda was a lot better than he has been in recent games. J.Cole was a bit of a disappoint but I guess you can be tired once in a while.
I feel sorry for Riise but we didn't give up and I think we got what we deserved. I mean we wasted a few gd chances as did Torres for Liverpool.
TBH coming into this game I thought that because Liverpool were favs that we would perform better. Tho tbh I didn't know what to expect seeing as both times before the weaker Liverpool team won, yet this time round Liverpool are one hell of a lot stronger so it is all still to play for at Stamford Bridge.

Some luck against Liverpool was long overdue. Makelele did a very good job of neutralizing Gerrard and Torres was for the most part ineffective. Our defence looks solid enough, but we really need to work on our attack.

I forgot to mention what a thug Terry is, running into Torres's midriff while he was on the floor.
He's very lucky the ref didn't see that, could have been deemed violent conduct. Definitely would have warranted at least a yellow which would have seen him off by the end of the game.

The irony of Kalou getting another assist is amazing.
ITV are pricks, couldn't hear them over all the sucking of Liverpool *****.
Disgraceful.
Delighted with the draw.

Terrible mistake by a terrible footballer. Why a player whose astronomical wages are common knowledge is not comfortable swinging his weaker foot at a ball two foot off the deck, and chooses instead to try and somehow lift a header over his own crossbar....baffles me.
Such an important goal as well. 1-0 was a great result, and one i think we deserved as well. 1-1 changes the whole dynamic, we have nothing to protect at Stamford Bridge, and the last player to score there for us was Bruno Cheyrou!!
Thought Alonso was brilliant tonight, took responsibility for the pace of the game and his passing was fantastic. Mascherano was great as well, some tackle on Malouda to stop a goal! Skrtel did very well against Drogba, who got a hell of a lot more joy out of Carragher. Gerrard was terrible tonight, so lazy it was untrue, he seemed to just stand in an advanced midfield position, whilst Xabi, Masch, Torres & Kuyt ran themselves ragged. Still forced what looked a top save from Cech though, i thought that was in.
Chelsea were ok i thought, Lampard was their best player, always picking out a blue shirt with his passing. Ballack was poor, and Joe Cole never got a kick, whilst Malouda simply played like a player bereft of confidence or convicition, it seemed every decision he made was wrong. Drogba was loathsome tonight, i lost count of the amount of times he played dead, only to spring into action once the decision went his way, maybe it was cos he had a shocker.
Havent seen the Terry on Torres "incident", the Anny Road didnt seem happy about it...what happened?

Got to say was one of the poorest games of football ever, chelsea were never in the game didnt deserve anything.
While ITV sucked Liverpool off so much, i nearli broke my tv.
Drogba is also a twat, dont get his badge kissing at the end, what was that all aobut...all he did for 90 minutes was stay on the ground...Chelsea i cant recall ever going close or having an attempt on goal.
Cant believe these two teams are the in the semi finals of the champions league, thats why i always say the champions league should go back to its old format where only champions should be in the competition or at least the top 2.

wow... absolutely horrible football match... disgraceful from a few angles really:
1. drogba is a cheating/diving/moaning/whining twat... i absolutely despise his existance... there are no words to describe my hatred for him, i would not take him at man united for FREE...
2. the ref was absolutely horrible... one of the worst officiated matches ive ever seen, and i dont even care for either of the teams involved. if i were i liverpool fan, i would be inscenced (dont think liverpool got the good end of a decision in the entire match). i hate liverpool and was genuinely upset when ashley cole whacked kuyt on the sideline in the 2nd half and there was not a foul called... should have been a yellow card for sure and the ref gave nothing. what a laugh.
3. chelsea deserved NOTHING from this match... they played longball the entire match and never even used their midfield. ballack, lampard, joe cole, and makelele were barely involved.
some good things:
1. liverpool i thought actually played nicely for most of the match... alonso, gerrard, and mascherano were outstanding i thought. torres wasnt quite on his top form, but his movement is really something to watch. benitez is a world class manager (hahaha... in stark contrast to the moron on the opposing bench for this game who was totally, completely, undubiously outclassed... yet somehow managed a result)
2. the whole world got to see what a twat drogba is... he truly is a disgrace to football

I disagree. I think Chelsea lost some confidence and motivation after the Liverpool game, but were very much in the game in the 2nd half. We had our chances and didn't take them. It was the pressure from Chelsea that forced Riise's own goal.

That pissed me off. Who the fuck does Drogba think he is? He's a whining diver. Chelsea had a few chances in a game where Liverpool dominated most of the time.

Maka had him dealt with. Forced him into wider positions later in the game, but was still ineffective apart from that shot.

Lampard's passing was very good, it's a shame that he messed that one chance up. Was he also the one who lost possession that led to the Kuyt goal?
Riise was our best player by far.

Yes you would. You know that when he's committed to a cause and motivated properly, he's world class. Most players who dive are like that: when they are shit they dive, when they are good they don't.

I think he did a fair job. He could have dealt with John Terry's recklessness a bit earlier, other than that, he was fine. Liverpool have absolutely no reason to be upset about "poor" refereeing anyways...they are in this semi-final because of poor decisions against Arsenal. Not to mention that "ghost goal" from 2005....It's karma.

You must be fucking blind. Lampard had some very nice passes. Ballack wasn't very good, but still had a couple of chances on goal. Makelele was the reason why a certain Mr. Gerrard went missing.

I'll admit Drogba completely disgraced himself, Chelsea FC, Ivory Coast, and football today. But pisses me off is that everyone loves to jump on Chelsea's back when there is a diver, whereas when Gerrard dives(AND YES HE DOES), it's largely ignored or forgiven. What a hypocritical world we live in, where the media love to suck Liverpool off.

Now Liverpool have quite a dilema now. They need a victory (almost impossible) or a high draw 2-2 or + (incredibly dificult but more realistic than a the victory) at Stamford Bridge.
Riise really fucked up there.

Really dull, poor game of football but with a brilliant finish.
I really couldn't stop laughing when Riise scored. Pathetic goal to concede: use your right foot you idiot!
Ref was rubbish but I didn't feel he gave every decision against Liverpool: Chelsea should have had a penalty towards the end.
