FAC: Liverpool v Barnsley (16.02.08)
Liverpool has a big defensive headache ahead of his side's FA Cup fifth round clash with Barnsley at Anfield on Saturday after Martin Skrtel was ruled out with a calf injury.
Benitez is still without metatarsal victim Daniel Agger and must decide whether to risk fellow defender Sami Hyypia with one eye on next week's Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
I doubt Rafa will risk Torres in this match since Liverpool will play first leg against Inter next week. I expect Rafa to give Itandje another chance in the cup.

Liverpool should have taken their chances well. But Steele was really good today.
Feel bad for them. But oh well. I think Benitez will surely get fired now.

Itanje is such a shit goalkeeper.
You didn't take your chances and end up losing at the last minute. But that's football

Kuyt missed so many chances. Why dont they get in another decent striker and f*ck off these pony average ones.
Kuyt works bloody hard but he's not a natural goal scorer, for example the one where he chests it most strikers would head or volley that in.
Some Great saves from Steele though.

Liverpool uses to much time to finish. It's a obvious what's the huge problem is. Rafa wants to sign a new deal with Crouch and that's says all about things going the wrong direction. Soon there also will be CL exit. Liverpool have no chance against Inter with the performances they have the recent months. They truelly aren't good enough and for those who wants to keep Rafa still at charge they must be waiting a long time for success. I think Barnsley deserved the win because they had more effort in the game. I have no pity for Liverpool and Rafa at the moment.

You get a decent result against Inter and Rafa will be a genius again.
You are going through a bad patch, I fear the American's have done to Rafa what the Spurs board did to Jol.

I agree, we did see the same situation at Spurs. Once our board were known to be already talking to Ramos, there was no way back for Jol. It's the same situation for Benitez now and I feel sorry for him in a way. I might be wrong but I cannot see him being in charge at Liverpool next season.
Having said that, I'm amazed at how some players like Itandje, Kuyt, Voronin etc. are considered to be good enough for a club like Liverpool. Benitez has to take some of the blame, as he bought these players in and keeps playing them. He also keeps playing Gerrard out of position.
