Thats what we needed!
Tore them apart from the first whistle. Maybe they werent very good but we certainly were! Torres is looking fantastic at the moment, Kewell is steadily playing his way back into form, Gerrard is not far from his very best, and the support cast did well too- Benayoun & Kuyt had very quietly efficient games. Add to that the fact that Babel is improving with every game, and that we still have Crouch, Finnan, Alonso & Agger who would potentially come into the side, and we have a good looking side. The critics who slagged Rafa's subs on Saturday off were certainly eating their words last night, Torres had shaken his knock off, and Gerrard started like an absolute train.
I dont think Milan, Inter, Barca or Real would particularly want to be drawn against us in the last 16. i hope we get Real Madrid (well, Sevilla would be first choice football wise but Madrid for the trip). I havent been the Bernabeu yet and I'd love to go. Obviously whoever we get is a tricky draw but we can beat anyone in Europe on our day and i have faith that we will progress.
L'OM fans are crazy, absolutely crazy. They didnt stop singing even after the 4th goal went in (maybe they were concentrating on singing rather than the battering that their team was getting), they were the best to have come to Anfield as well this season. Their side though was atrocious last night, the two centre halves were a joke, the striker (Niang?) did nothing but fall over, and they had Zenden in the side! Also whoever brought up the kits makes a good point, quite why they wore their away/3rd strip for a home CL game baffles me....
