At least its in our hands going to the Stade Velodrome, we have to be full of confidence that we can get the three points. It was nervy last night when it was 1-1, a goal in either game could have seen us out but we showed our killer instinct and fighting spirit and got the breakthrough thanks to some class from Kewell and Torres. Kewell again was excellent when he was introduced, showed more in 20 mins than Babel & the awful Benayoun had all night, but it shows we have decent competition for places out wide, and different types of player too, esp when Pennant returns.
Porto were awful til they scored, and then pretty negative after half time. I like Lisandro Lopez, he looks a good player, and the left back had a good game as well. But apart from that i thought Quaresma was woeful and the other winger (Gonzalez??) offered a sum total of nothing, although maybe that had as much to do with the way Finnan & Arbeloa played.
Good answer from Liverpool, another scoreline like that would be nice away at L'OM.

Agreed. We still had a sort of good period on the firs t5-10mins of the second half.

Are you serious mate ? I think Cech's performances was even below his own standards (which are quite low I might add), he had an almost as bad game as that Stepanov (the guy that was pushed by Hyppia on the penalty and the same guy that looked like an amateur on the 2nd goal).
Lisandro scored that great goal, but missed a sitter right after and also missed a good chance in the early goings of the second half. He is a good player, but he isn't clinical enough to play where he is playing atm, as the box player in our 4-3-3.
Lucho, Bosingwa (the RB), Bruno Alves (the other CB) and Kaz (the bald CM which made the cross for the goal) were ok as well.

You think that Arbeloa was good ? He looked almost as stupid as Stepanov, the way he got beaten on Porto's goal. Finnan though, he had a good game I agree.
Quaresma was so poor, his poorest performance of the season, by far. Right after a fabulous performance in the league..
Mariano was also pretty poor, I can't believe he wasn't subbed off at half-time.

Quaresma ain't that class as someone thinks. He didn't show anything of class in the first game either. Maybe he is a better player against weaker teams in Portugal but he's far away from class.

Judging a player based on 2 games is simply wrong. Quaresma had a crap game yeah, but to say he isn't class because is of it, is wrong. Or should I think that Benayoun and Babel are crap because they were awful yesterday ?
Quaresma hasn't been very good this season, he still hasn't found his form, only shown something in 2/3 matches, but I'm sure once he gets back to his amazingness, he will shown you and everyone that doubts him, that he is brilliant.

Why he was subbed off, I'm yet to understand.

Haven't seen that much of him, but from the CL matches, I think he can be a bit of a liability. Not that Riise or Aurelio are any better at LB...

Did anyone see a red and white (no blue) US flag with Rafa Stays as having been in the Kop. Did anyone see that?
Highly disturbing.
The last time I seen something like that outside a football ground was on Franco's birthday at the Bernabeu 25 years ago.

It's a huge difference between crap and class. All I am saying is that Quaresma don't have much class. Maybe he is on the same level as Benayoun... And that's me being kind. Barca didn't want him and he had to move back to Portugal because he wasn't good enough. He's not up there along the best players.
