Left it late but deserved the win in the end. Great to see El Nino back with a bang, the class difference between him and Voronin/Kuyt is incredible. Look at the way he controlled the long punt from Pepe, and then made it count. Stunning.

Gerrard was at a good level yesterday, putting tackles in, driving forward and being creative. A better touch here and there, or a bit of luck and he might have got a hat trick. Crouch wasnt fantastic but his presence is a lot more reassuring and threatening than either Voronin or Crouch, he was at the heart of all our attacking threat.

Riise and Aurelio were particularly poor i felt. Riise has to be a contender for being shown the door in January, or next summer at the latest (probably if we're still in the CL Riise will have to stay), he offers so little to the side its untrue, and the level of effort he puts in just isnt good enough. Aurelio's crossing was poor yesterday but he has done well since he has come back, if he can get some games under his belt he could be a decent player for us.

Good to see a nice cameo from Babel, setting up Crouch for the penalty. Maybe he tries that cutting in from the left onto his right foot for a shot too much, but he is confident enough to do it, a welcome change from the likes of Zenden, Gonzalez & Leto down the left. I have faith in that signing.

Nice to get another home win at last, 10 goals in 3 games with none conceded will do me.

Man of the match- Steven Gerrard i reckon.

EDIT; bad news on Benayoun, hope his injury aint serious.

Benayoun will be out for 3 weeks

it is very bad news for england, because without benayoun israel's chances in beating russia are way smaller.

^ wow! that picture is brilliant.

not the most exciting of games to watch but not too bad.

Watching the game though I was really struggling to understand the Fulham defence, they kept getting themselves into so much trouble by stupid mistakes and then played incredibly to get themselves out of it. (Prime example being Niemi's save of one of the freekicks when he took a giant step to his left and then dived to his right).

Dempsey I thought was Fulham's best player going forward, I didn't think subbing him was the right choice.

Liverpool deserved their win, it's pretty cruel on Fulham though, with less than 10mins to go to not only lose the match but to concede 2 goals. Fulham would be top if games only lasted to HT!

yeah i thought Dempsey played well. it was a relief when he went off tbh cos he was the only one who looked like scoring for them.
