"I always feel that in England, players should not be rewarded with penalties for diving."
Rafa Benitez:
"I felt both penalty decisions were right. And I also agree with the yellow card for Kuyt and not a red.
"He did not touch the Everton player and was moving across him rather than straight into him, he was trying to charge down the ball.
It was only one diver yesterday, and that was Lescott according to Rafa.

Rafa should use Lucas more often. He's one of the biggest talents Liverpool have. And he should consider get profit on Sissoko in January. Liverpool struggles on keeping the ball when Sissoko plays. He's not good enough any longer. He don't show any progress in his passing game. I have no more patience with him.

he did well when he came on yesterday did Lucas. showed more composure than fucking Riise did when the ball came out to him 12 yards out, and seemed to have no problems putting himself about in a fiery game.
he's got good potential, i think his signing does mean that Momo will eventually be offloaded, and tbh i wouldnt shed many tears if he went. he can be useful in tight away games where we need to frustrate teams, but when we are looking for a bit of quality on the ball there is no point picking him cos he doesnt have any. for a professional footballer, his football ability is pathetic.

Gerrard accused over red card
Quote:
Steven Gerrard was accused of getting Everton's Tony Hibbert sent off after Liverpool snatched an injury-time winner in one of the most controversial Merseyside derbies.
Everton manager David Moyes was furious with the England captain, and with referee Mark Clattenburg for a series of decisions that reduced the hosts to nine men and allowed Dirk Kuyt, only booked for a dreadful tackle, to score two second-half penalties in Liverpool's 2-1 victory.
Moyes was convinced Gerrard had influenced the referee into giving Hibbert a red card after the Everton defender had brought him down in the box for the equalising penalty in the 54th minute.
'The referee pulled out a yellow card for Tony Hibbert and not a red one until the captain [Gerrard] went over and spoke to him, so maybe he has changed his mind,' said an angry Moyes. 'I think the penalty kick itself was debatable. Ours in the last minute was not debatable.'
In a clear barb at Clattenburg, Moyes added: 'The truth is if you didn't see it, maybe you shouldn't be out there doing the job.'
Everton also argued that Kuyt should not have been on the field to score his goals after a crazy 'kung fu' lunge at Phil Neville produced only a caution.
And the home side were visibly incensed when they were not awarded a penalty themselves in the final seconds after Jamie Carragher wrestled Joleon Lescott to the ground.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, relieved to end a run of three successive draws in the Premier League, backed Clattenburg's decisions and controversially claimed Lescott had dived for his late penalty appeal.
'In England you don't like to see players diving,' said Benitez, who joined his players as they gathered in front of the Liverpool fans to celebrate after the final whistle. But Benitez's accusation brought an angry retort from Moyes.
He said: 'It was not a dive, that is for sure. I think Joleon Lescott would probably be the last person to dive. I think he was just too strong for Carragher and Jamie had to pull him to the ground.'
To complete Everton's sense of injustice, it was Kuyt who scored again from the spot after Neville handled a shot by substitute Lucas and was shown a red card.
Everton felt Kuyt should have been ordered off for his foul on Neville in the 63rd minute.
Moyes said: 'We had a directive that a two-footed tackle off the ground was a sending-off offence. There was four feet of space below Kuyt when he jumped off the ground two-footed. And he goes on to score the winning goal.'
Benitez, whose priority is to lead Liverpool to their first title since 1990, sprang a surprise by taking off Gerrard after 72 minutes.
He said: 'We needed to play with our heads and not our hearts.'

Steven Gerrard is the captain of Liverpool and has the right to question the referees judgement!

I can't say I'm surprised Rafa talks about as much sense as you do.

Kuyt 'lucky' to avoid dismissal

Many expected Kuyt to see red for his reckless lunge
Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt admitted he could have been sent off for his rash challenge on Phil Neville in Saturday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
The Dutchman was only booked for an aerial two-footed lunge and said: "Maybe I was a bit lucky.
"I was trying to make a tackle, I did not want to touch him, and I didn't."
Everton defender Alan Stubbs disagreed and said: "In the laws of the game if a player goes with two feet and makes a lunge, that's what it was, it's a red."
Everton players felt aggrieved with referee Mark Clattenburg on a number of occasions.
The home side had two penalty claims rejected, while Liverpool were awarded two spot-kicks, both of which were successfully converted by Kuyt.
In addition, there was the dismissal of Tony Hibbert for tripping Steven Gerrard for the first penalty - a decision which Stubbs suggested was influenced by the Liverpool captain.
"The referee went to book Tony Hibbert holding a yellow card, their player (Gerrard) walks past him (the referee) and it's changed to a red," Stubbs fumed.
"We were 1-0 at half-time and on top, we had control of the game.
"The penalty changed everything, it gave them impetus and we were a man down.
"We are disappointed because we have lost. But there was zero feedback from the referee, I think they should have to come out after a game and explain themselves.
"We have to explain ourselves if we make bad decisions or mistakes, why not referees?"
Kuyt was delighted to secure a victory that keeps Liverpool in the top four.
"You could see our reaction after the game and what it meant to all of us," he said.
"Derby wins mean a lot to people like Jamie (Carragher) and Stevie, but they mean a lot to the rest of the players as well, we all understand how important these derby games are to our fans."

He would have been sent off if he had hit the player but he didn't and that's because he didn't want to. If he target to hit the player and not the ball then he wouldn't missed him.

Load of shite, if he had hit Phil there would had been a very good chance of a career threatening injury, what Kuyt done was nothing but aggression towards the player, he was angry after Jagielka had slide tackled hit and lashed out with that lunge on Neville. Who done very well to avoid the scumbag and make sure his leg was still in one piece.

Phil hadn't even touched the ball by the time Kuyt was in mid air.

oh turn it in for fucks sake. a couple of questionable decisions is not a fuckin conspiracy, and where the fuck does Jon Obi Mikel come into this. you have got a chip on your shoulder big time mate, every fucking post these days is either whining about Gerrard v Lampard- "if Frank had done that....bollocks", the media/refs/human race are ganging up on Chelsea, or they are on Liverpool's/United's cock. its fucking dull.
no ref in the league is biased against or for any certain club, that im sure of. it may seem that way when Steve Bruce & David Moyes come out every week and act like it, but the fact is that they sometimes cock up, it cant be helped. they will cock up in Everton's favour again this season, and they will cock up against Liverpool again this season. that is football. i know Everton should have had a penalty, and maybe Kuyt was lucky to stay on, but when decisions go against us you dont see me posting stupid fuckin comments like "if we had Blue shirts on we would definitely have got the penalty" or "the referees are conspiring against us". strap a set on and take your blinkers off.
on another note. Mascherano was our man of the match, easily. i saw in the Echo it said Yakubu & Jagielka had their best games for Everton- i genuinely thought those two were terrible.....

It was Yakubus best game for us in my opinion...... that just about sums him up...
Jagielka had a bad first half but played better 2nd... mainly because we were defending for most of it... he isnt a midfielder in my opinion, best to have him as reserve centre back and no.1 choice right back.
