Easy 1-0 win. Nice goal from Torres once again. City looked real poor and was lucky to not achieve more goals against.

First half was as bad a half of football from both sides as I have seen this season, no urgency or cohesion whatsoever. We picked up a lot after the break but wasted too many chances. Thankfully El Nino's "hamstring injury" didnt keep him out and he was able to make a mug out of Dunne and get the winner.
Insua got a game today at left back but I cant see Benitez using him as a regular. He didnt have a great game to be honest, barely went over the halfway line and got done for pace on a few occasions too. I think a new left back is paramount this summer, neither Riise or Aurelio or good enough or consistent enough, and the options that Arsenal & United get through their full backs cant be ignored.
City fans were really supportive of Eriksson today, similar scenes to what happened with Benitez earlier in the season. I dont think it will have the same effect though!
Interesting that Crouch, Pennant, Alonso & Riise were all left out today also. I expected a shadow side, but it was a fairly strong one, and these players being left out may be a sign of summer action. In Pennant & Riise's case, i certainly hope so. Although Voronin and Kuyt did get action, shudder.

I love the way Voronin said that he would come to England and learn from Shevchenkos mistakes and that he would be a success... he has been so poor this season and tbh ever since Torres came in I think it is safe to say he is your last choice striker. tbh only difference between voronin and Shevchenko is that we paid an arm and a a foot for him....
Torres on target once more...amazing player can only get player next season. interesting to see him play even tho he had a hamstring injury.
New kits worn as well by Liverpool for some reason....anyone know why?

Kit was released earlier this week, makes sense to debut it in our last home game so the fans can see it in action and then spunk their hard earned money on it in the summer.

oh right...I thought it would be worn at the beginning of next season as it is normally done.
What did you think of it? Personally I liked it, I never really liked the collar on the previous one.

Its ok, quite like the retro way the adidas stripes dont go all the way to the end of the sleeves- reminds me of the old Crown Paints one from the 80s. The collar on the old (or current) one is annoying, Craig Bellamy used to turn it inside out cos he said it irritated him during games.....modern footballers eh?

Voronin need to work much harder if he wants to be accepted from the fans. He thinks he is a good player but he ain't. He fails with almost everything he tries to do. He came for free and have only play one season so I except he will have another season in Liverpool. Hopefully there will be not much need to use him. He has nothing to contribute with and he loses the ball too easy.
