Sissoko keen to stay at Anfield

Quote:
Momo Sissoko's agent insists the midfielder wants to stay with Liverpool.

Despite recent rumours linking him to a number of clubs including Juventus and Fiorentina, Sissoko's agent Jose Segui insists the Mali international is happy at Anfield and has no desire to leave.

'There's not much chance of him leaving Liverpool. Momo is happy and has a contract with them until 2010. I don't believe Liverpool want to lose him, said Segui.

'But, obviously, clubs are going to talk to each other, but for the moment nothing is happening.'

With Alonso, Mascherano, Lucas and Gerrard, Sissoko won't be playing that much. Defensively he is very good and wins a lot of balls but from what I've seen Mascherano is at least as good as him defensively and can spread the ball about better. So it won't be too bad to sell him especially if we get 10Million plus.

He is young and can still improve but the main area he needs to improve is his technical ability and if you don't have that at 22 you're not getting it...

Yeah i've heard that, it'd be a crazy deal on Benfica's part. Surely it would have to be Cisse + cash for Simao, which would be ok i suppose as we would get a primary target for a knock down price, and offload an unwanted player in the process.

On Sissoko, maybe his confidence has gone a bit, but even at his best his passing and shooting is poor.

Sissoko has been hit with a £12M price-tag in today's papers.

Sissoko may leave and so can Alonso...Rafa best signings will leave.(some times he has luck). And who know who's next to sign for us?Some new crap maybe...?I think so.Why the hell do he purchace Eto'o?WASTE OF TIME!To sign him there almost no money left to sign new players...what we need...

I bet Lucas will have a shit performance for Liverpool and Rafa need to get rid of him also.

Pennant expects Reds stay

Quote:
Jermaine Pennant says he expects to stay at Liverpool next season - and has set his sights on establishing himself in the England side.

The former Arsenal and Birmingham winger failed to convince when he arrived at Anfield last summer, but has now started to find his feet and won critical acclaim for his performance in the UEFA Champions League final.

Rafa Benitez has stressed the importance of making changes to his squad for next season if Liverpool are to challenge for the Premiership, but Pennant is confident that his place is safe.

"I don't think there will be a complete change of squad," he told the club's official website.

"There may be a few players coming and going, but that happens at every club.

"I'm an easy target, but no-one has said anything to me about leaving. I've got a contract for another two years and I hope I can stay for as long as possible."

And Pennant feels he could secure a regular place on the right flank for England.

David Beckham made an impressive comeback for his country in the friendly with Brazil on Friday night, but he may find it difficult to hold onto his place when he moves to LA Galaxy.

And with the likes of Aaron Lennon and Shaun Wright-Phillips yet to fully establish themselves in the position long term, Pennant feels he can take on the role.

"A lot of players have been tried on the right, but no-one's filled that gap yet," he told the Daily Star Sunday.

"I'm still young and, if I can keep playing well, I don't see why I can't get the nod one day."

Of course he will stay.Time for McClaren to give him a new chance for England. He's better than ever!

He's not a pure Liverpool fan in any way shape or form...he was born in Nottingham, and came through the Notts County youth academy. i would doubt he had set foot in Anfield til he played there....you must have noticed that all players who sign for Liverpool, whether they are from Nottingham or New Zealand, profess to be "Liverpool fans since they were a little boy"....its an attempt to endear themselves to the fans.

He had a good last quarter of the season, i was very impressed, but he will need to continue it before he justifies the price tag, and a starting position for us.
