Liverpool have tabled a bid of 20million euros (£13.5million) for Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista, according to Marca.
What need do Liverpool have for another striker?Make no sense for me.

Sochaux have pulled out of talks for Liverpool striker Anthony Le Tallec. The French club had agreed personal terms with Le Tallec over a four-year contract, but coaching staff decided not to push through the deal.

Marca one of those newspappers that you cannot trust, they make up stories just like tribalfootball.

Harry Kewell could be set to reign in Spain. Speculation is mounting in England that Kewell could leave Liverpool in a $5 million transfer to Spanish second division club Real Sociedad. With the summer transfer window closing on Saturday, the usual flurry of late activity has thrown up Kewell's name as a transfer possibility, which is not surprising given his lack of action with Liverpool.

I'm sure despite his injury proneness Kewell could find a better club than a team in the Spanish second division... Spurs for one.
Also I've only just noticed that Baptista rumour, I would find it so hilarious if Liverpool signed him, I guess the only game they saw him play in was that Carling Cup game v Liverpool

Liverpool reject opening Portsmouth offer for Crouch
Quote:
Liverpool have rejected an opening offer from Portsmouth for striker Peter Crouch.
The Guardian says Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp, who is prepared to sell Nugent one month after his £6m transfer from Preston, has turned his attention to the unsettled Crouch, having struggled to lure Nicolas Anelka from Bolton. Contact was made between officials of Portsmouth and Liverpool at the weekend, when the Anfield club made clear their opposition to a sale.
Portsmouth would have to offer a fee of about £12m and even then a return to the club where Crouch scored 18 goals in 37 league games in 2001-2002 would need to be sought by him rather than Liverpool. His manager, Rafael Benitez, has made it clear that Crouch remains in his plans.

UJFALUSI SNUBS REDS
Quote:
Tomas Ujfalusi's agent Pavel Paska has claimed that Liverpool made an enquiry about the availability of the Fiorentina defender.
The Czech Republic international has 12 months remaining on his present deal and was linked with a move to Sevilla earlier this summer.
With Jamie Carragher currently out injured after sustaining a broken rib, Paska explained that Rafa Benitez was keen to secure the player as defensive cover.
However Ujfalusi is only keen on a move to Spain and has reportedly turned down the enquiry.
"Liverpool have a problem as Jamie Carragher has picked up a serious injury," Paska told Sport.
"Manager Rafael Benitez together with the club director Ricky Parry have therefore asked me if I could address the offer to Tomas.
"Tomas has consulted it with his family and told me that he was happy with life in Italy and that the only country he would move to is Spain.
"I have to respect his decision, nevertheless it has surprised me a lot. Liverpool never give this offer twice to one player."
