Racecourse Ground in Wrexham will be the scene of Harry Kewell's much anticipated return to football. Kewell will line up for the Liverpool reserves against Everton on Tuesday. While the full extent of Kewell's role has not yet been determined, there is a strong possibility he will start the match.

Carson wins player of the year
Quote:
Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson has been named player of the year at loan club Charlton Athletic.
The 21-year-old became the first loan player to win the fans' vote at The Valley.
Carson, who is on a season-long loan from Anfield, beat last year's winner Darren Bent into second place.

Good Kewell comeback for reserves
Quote:
Liverpool Reserve team manager Gary Ablett was full of praise for Harry Kewell who made a welcome return from injury during the 3-1 win over Everton in the mini derby.
The Australian star appeared as a 55th minute substitute and within five minutes of entering the field created a goal for Craig Lindfield after some magical wing play.
Paul Anderson and Nabil El Zhar scored the Reds other goals in an impressive display.
"It was a good way to end the season for us with a derby win and Harry played 35 minutes which is fantastic and he did really well," enthused Ablett.
"It was nice to see Harry set up a goal when he showed great upper body strength and held people off before laying the ball square to Craig who finished very well.
"We created some good chances on the night and we could have scored more than three in the end.
"Derby games are always difficult and Everton always try and make things difficult for you. The lads from the youth team like Jay Spearing, Craig, Robbie Threlfall and Charlie Barnett had a difficult match on Thursday when they played really well but had extra-time and penalties. Emiliano Insua played 90 minutes for the first team on Saturday and in fairness we looked tired towards the end of the game."
Reflecting on his first season in charge of the reserve team Ablett admits there has been many positives to take from the campaign.
"We have finished seven points off the top and we didn't win any of our first four games so I haven't been too disappointed with our season," added Ablett.
"We've more than held our own in the majority of games but on the whole it has been very positive and I have been really pleased with the players.
"I would like to thank our fitness coach Antonio Gomez who has done a superb job with the lads this season."

Harry Kewell made an impressive return from injury when he created a goal during Liverpool Reserves' 3-1 win over Everton in the mini-derby at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground on Monday night.
The Reds number seven hadn't kicked a ball since scoring for Australia against Croatia in the World Cup and has been on the sidelines all season. He came on after 55 minutes and played on the left wing.
Kewell made an instant impact too. He was only on the field for five minutes when he beat two defenders down the left and set up Craig Lindfield for a tap-in from close range.
Paul Anderson scored the Reds first goal and Moroccan Nabil El Zhar will claim the second goal with the aid of a deflection.
In their final second string match of the season Gary Ablett's side played some superb football at times and they were full value for their win. Indeed the Reds could easily have scored more than three goals on the night.
Ablett's starting line-up included six of the young starlets who helped Liverpool win the FA Youth Cup Final against Manchester United last Thursday, in the form of Jay Spearing, Stephen Darby, Lindfield, Robbie Threlfall, Charlie Barnett and goalkeeper David Roberts. Jimmy Ryan and Lee Woodward were on the bench as was 16-year-old Academy goalkeeper Chris Oldfield.
Argentine left back Emiliano Insua, who made his first team debut at Portsmouth on Saturday was given another outing. Spearing played central midfield alongside Barnett with captain Jack Hobbs partnering Ronald Huth at centre half.
Everton, who won this corresponding fixture 2-1 earlier this season fielded a young team and they were outclassed.
Liverpool went close after 16 minutes when Lindfield's superb lay-off sent Anderson racing away down the right wing. The winger's low cross found El Zhar whose effort was well kept out by John Ruddy.
A minute later Anderson put the Reds 1-0 up when he intercepted an Everton clearance and ran clear before producing a clinical finish.
It was 2-0 after 25 minutes with a goal of almost comical proportions. An attempted Everton clearance by Darren Dennehy struck the right boot of El Zhar and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
Liverpool were looking as though they were going to score with every attack as inspired by the passing and prompting in midfield by Jay Spearing they used the wide players to great effect.
Lindfield hit a great strike from 30-yards out which beat Ruddy but sailed just wide. Then a minute later a diving header from El Zhar landed just wide. Lindfield and strike partner El Zhar caused the Everton defence problems all night and they were proving too hot to handle.
Just before the interval it should have been 3-0 but Anderson could only shoot wildly over the bar after a good left wing cross from Threlfall.
Lindfield added the third goal on the hour mark after some magical wing play from Kewell.
The Aussie then nearly set up another goal but Anderson's effort was superbly saved by Ruddy.
Everton pulled a goal back after 78 minutes when Kieran Agard ran onto a through ball and finished well.
Liverpool Reserves: Roberts, Darby, Insua, Hobbs, Huth (Kewell 55), Barnett (Ryan 77), Anderson, Spearing, Lindfield (Brouwer 67), El Zhar, Threlfall. Subs' not used: Oldfield (GK), Woodward.
Everton Reserves: Ruddy, Densmore, Molyneux, Irving, Dennehy, Harpur (Downes 45), Phelan, Vidarsson, Spencer (Morrison 45), Agard, Kissock.
Referee: K G Evans.
Liverpoolfc.tv Man of the Match: Paul Anderson. Scored an excellent goal and had a terrific match on the right wing. Really exciting to watch.

Carson considers Addicks stay
Quote:
Scott Carson has admitted he would consider staying at Charlton.
The England Under 21 international is coming to the end of a season-long loan at The Valley from Liverpool.
Carson has impressed at Charlton and was recently named as the club's Player of the Year.
The former Leeds youngster is hoping to help Charlton escape relegation and he revealed he could stay at the club if they manage to escape the drop.
"I like the club, I like everyone here and I like the players," Carson told the club's official website.
"Hopefully we can get a few more points and stay up and then hopefully it will be a possibility.
"I've enjoyed it here. The main thing is that I have been playing games.
"The season could have been a bit smoother - we've had three different managers and everything like that - but I'm just happy to be playing games; that's what I want to do."

Blackburn Rovers playmaker Morten Gamst Pedersen has hinted that he would be interested in making the move to Liverpool if the Merseysiders were to make an offer for him at the end of the season.
When asked about the speculation linking him with Anfield Gamst Pedersen said: " I have played most of my career in red and even the Blackburn away kit is red, so that colour suits me. "

It could also be Manchester United.

Heighway: Rafa plan for kids 'crazy'
Quote:
Liverpool academy boss Steve Heighway has described Rafael Benitez's decision to assume control of the coaching of the club's up-and-coming players as "crazy".
Heighway oversaw the Reds' triumph in the FA Youth Cup final last week and announced after the second leg that he would be leaving the academy after 19 years.
He told The Times: "Rafa is a terrific manager, tactically astute with qualities I really admire, but in my view I'm the best coach of 17 and 18-year-old players in this club. But I no longer get the chance to do that. That's crazy, that's mad; it's to the detriment of the young players at this club."
During Heighway's time at the club players such as Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have come through the ranks.
