Carragher is needed in the centre.
Liverpool with only Finan for RB is screwed. Finan isn't even a great RB.
It's too late now, but Liverpool should had tried Dani Alves from Sevilla.

Liverpool are working hard to sign Lucas Neill until midnight when the transfer deadline goes out.If they don't come to a deal with Blackburn than Carragher and maybe Paletta will be used as a cover on right back.Hyypia and Agger have played well together in the centre, so there are no problem for Liverpool to use Carragher on the right.

Sevilla wanted a price for Alves that Liverpool couldn't effort.For an example: Liverpool had to sell Kromkamp to get money to buy Neill.The transfer stall on that Blackburn wanted £2million+Warnock.A deal Benitez refused to go on to.Rafa explained why he refused to sacrifice Steve Warnock in a bid to bring Lucas Neill to Anfield that Warnock is too good to lose.Blackburn were not willing to agree only a cash deal.It was Warnock+cash or nothing.

Football is a gambling.Sometimes you lose.Finnan plays stable on the right.There are small complains about him.To get a better right back you need more than £2-4 million I think.Liverpool are short on cash at the moment.

Warnock is that important to Liverpool ?
For LB you have Riise and traoré right ?
So you could sacrifice Warnock, I think.

There are always loan deals.
I know Palleta can play as RB, but can he be trusted to play regularly ?

I have never seen Paletta play in a right back position before but Benitez has told he can use Paletta on the right.I think it's worth to try.Maybe he will succeed.You never know.

Djimi Traore have been sold to Charlton so he's not an option on the left back.We have Riise and Aurelio as an option still including Warnock.Riise is injured by the moment so Warnock and Aurelio have been used last couple of matches.I like to have 3 options in all position.Because when a player picks up an injury you don't have any cover left if that player also get injured.They are also an option on the left wing as well.Aurelio could play as a winger and Riise/Warnock on the back for an example.I think Benitez like to have all the option on the left side like he have now.Only Kewell can be available for sale because of his high wages £70 000 a week.Warnock is a scouser and are very popular for the fans.He have made promising development at Anfield and Rafa see him only to get better.

I'm very pleased with today's squad.But we need to get a new right back.It will certainly be Rafa's priority when the transfer window re-open in january.Perharps it was a mistake to sell Kromkamp now.Only time will tell.Sometimes you have to take a risk.

PAOK Salonika have confirmed that they rejected a late bid from Liverpool for Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.

The Greek starlet trained with The Reds during pre-season and boss Rafa Benitez was sufficiently impressed to try and snap him up on a permanent deal.

However, the two clubs had contrasting valuations for the player, with PAOK slapping a €1 million (£700,000) price tag on his head.

Liverpool were not prepared to pay that much up front, but PAOK turned down their interesting deadline day offer.

"PAOK have announced that they are rejecting the new and final offer from Liverpool regarding the transfer of Lazaros Christodoulopoulos," read a statement on the Greek club's official website.
"They stand by the claims known since August 23, which is €1 million.

"Liverpool's final offer, made yesterday, was €300,000 plus an extra €100,000 for every ten games he played for Liverpool."

Christodoulopoulos, however, has reportedly refused to return to PAOK and will make an appeal to Uefa.

He is believed to be demanding a release from his PAOK contract so that he is free to move to Anfield.
