Why do you assume he wouldn't leave if it meant taking a pay cut? Plenty of clubs would take him though...Harry would probably love him at Pompey.

There'll be clubs interested. Harry is a good player.

Simao wants to play for us, and Rafa wants him. Benfica have said they'll sell. The deal is likely.

Rafa tells him to fuck off and he will jump.

I don't see the necessity to get rid tbh....it's not like you have a huge depth of attackers (yet).

He won't see it like that....he'll feed the same old guff all big clubs give their lesser players....work hard and you can make the team...play well and you can stay in the team.

It will take him a year to figure out reality and to realise his ego needs a rethink....it happens every year....see Gudjohnsen.

EDIT: Ruley...what about Malbranque?

Eidur was rightfully pissed off being left on the bench at Chelski so lesser players could play.

He wasn't pissed off at anything but his poor form when he got the chance to play.

No, i only post here these days but i've always posted under the same name.

It's very obvious that Pennant was only an alternative to Simao, and almost every article linking us with Pennant stated as much.

whenever he got a run of games he played well, then got dropped, that's why he was pissed.

It's also entirely untrue...he never got a run of games, normally because he either played one good followed by one bad....one good followed by injury (and in 2 instances a case of the flu ) and often one bad game followed by bench, followed by another bad.

The final straw was when we tried to crowbar him into a specially accomodated position in a 4231 to get out of our bad patch....he was wank twice in a row and didn't play again all season...rightfully.
