Steven. His name is Steven. And that is all he was called up until this dreadful 'Stevie G' shite was dreamt up a year ago.

Incidently the names of the best CM partnership in the league aren't fucking Momo and Xabi, they are Lampard and Makalele.

Oooh and it means I think Dalgliesh is king as well doesn't it.

Take a look at your own fucking signature first, the crocodile tears for a few dead cunts should have ended long ago.

Proving yourself to once again be a complete muppet. Get off your armchair and leave the house once in a while you fool. Get yourself a dose of reality.

Everyone calls him Stevie, EVERYONE. And he's been known as Stevie G since he was 14 and coming thru our youth ranks.

Momo and Xabi are a far better partnership, and far better players than Makelele and Fat Frank, both of whom are being shown up at the world cup with their poor performances, while Xabi has been in stunning form for Spain.

Now, you ARE having a laugh.

Granted, Gerrard is a better player than Fat Frank individually. No question and absolutely no doubt about that.

But Makelele is head and shoulders above Sissoko at this present time. Your comment that Sissoko's better is a bit like saying that, say, Gilberto Silva is better than Keano. You're wrong.

As for a partnership, Makelele and Gerrard would be awesome at this time.

But Bollocks' entrance will be interesting.......

Alonso and Gerrard are both better than Fat Frank.

Sissoko is a better player than Makelele but Makelele is more effective. Hope he enjoys covering for 2 lazy, greedy showboaters next season.

Alonso had less assists than Lampard last season and Gerrard had less goals - Alonso is a better passer (altho he has never shown it against us) and Gerrard is a little bit better in all departments on his day, even if he is less productive (altho he has never shown it against us-maybe once during the FA Cup Semi).

No, neither Lampard or Ballack are lazy.

Lamps and Ballack are both lazy. F.A. Cup semi and CL semis, Alonso and Gerrard showed up your over-rated midfield. All of Lamps assists come from corners or free-kicks.

Alonso had more assists from open play in both of the last 2 seasons.

And Gerrard scored more goals than Fat Frank last season.

Gerrard scored against virtual non-league opposition, I discount those goals as much as you discount assists from set pieces...which is redundant.

Facts are facts. Stevie scored more goals. and has also been FAR better than Fat Frank in the WC. Fat Frank should be dropped.

dont think anyone can argue with that....

Lampard is good, but he's nowhere near as good as Gerrard.

Lampard is strange. To be honest I don't like him as a player and he doesn't seem to contribute much to the match as a whole. Nowhere near as influential as Steven Gerrard and he isn't capable of taking a game by the scruff of it's neck. But you can't argue with his goal scoring record, he's very productive and his goal contribution alone means he is worth his place in the team.

Sissoko is a fucking bandy legged streak of piss who can run a bit. He's Djimi Traore playing a bit further up the park, and not in the same league as Makalele. I do like Alonso though.

Lampard has taken many a game by the scruff of it's neck.

Gerrard has created this myth because of his timely moments of brilliance. He gave the ball away over 20 times and had 0 succesful tackles in the FA cup final, yet his goals mean he "took the game by the scruff of the neck".

To see "scruff of neck taking" see Utd, Bolton, Wet Spam games towards the end of our season. Lampard running the show and setting the tone with hard tackles, goals and assists.

I can't argue against 'Stevie' being better than Lampard, not least because of the vastly greater amounts of guff surrounding his legend - I will admit he has more natural ability, but he isn't "vastly" superior, otherwise his statistics would bare that out. For someone vastly inferior it is remarkable just how much better (even if it's only a little bit) Lampards statistics have been over the last few seasons, for club and country

I don't like Lampard as a player, he's so over-confident, keeps going for the long range shots in the WC but 90% of the time fails to get a proper contact on the ball ~o~

...Stevie has been more of a team player in the WC so far...well not anymore *sigh* Portugals doing ~
