our strikers - TalkSoccer

we have 4 main strikers at the club, and none of them can score consistently.

fowler- has certainly wasted the least chances of the 4 in recent weeks, and was unlucky not to have a match winning goal against charlton, he is the striker with the best movement in forward positions, even though he is not match fit yet. he would start every time if i was rafa.

crouch- i have stuck up for him all season, and will continue to do so as long as he keeps his work ethic up. he is not a natural finisher, and never will be. his technique when shooting is pretty poor, and he struggles when challenging for headers with strong centre backs. his link up play is very good, but when he is used as a lone target man, as he was today, he is pretty useless, he needs people working off him.

cisse- does my fucking head in. time and time again he gets into one on one situations with the opposing full backs, and either knocks it out of play, or knocks it past the full back and blasts his cross over the bar or over the box for a throw on the far side. he has the pace to worry defences, but he does not know how to utilise it, and he gets frustrated when things dont go his way.

morientes- this guy should have been one of the all time bargains for liverpool, at 6m he was a snip, now its looking like £6 now would be a rip off. no composure, no awareness, no pace, no goals, no clue. keep telling myself he will come good, but i have to admit defeat. he's not gonna prove me right. he would be first out the door if i was rafa.

All good players on their day...it is a bit weird really...your biggest problem isn't your strikers really....its the lack of goals from your wide players which would compensate somewhat for your strikers ineptitude.

well surely our strikers "ineptitude" must be classed as a bigger problem as our wingers, who btw have chipped in 10 league goals between them (6 for garcia, 2 for kewell, 2 for zenden).........whilst gerrard and alonso have scored 10 between them as well.......now its time for the front men to do their bit. starting at home to fulham tomorrow.

Gobby Fowler - hopeless. I've got a £200 bet with a plastic scouser that he won't score 10 times in the rest of his Liverpool career, looks like easy money at the minute.

"Crouchy" - think I've made my feelings pretty much known on this mong. One of the most over-rated players in modern football.

Cisse - ha.

Morientes - I was gutted when you signed him, I thought he'd be a top player for you. Don't know why but he just cant cut it any more.

fowler isnt hopeless, he's just inconsistent. he hasnt done anything wrong in his limited appearances so far (both for city and for us).

morientes and cisse on the other hand, are.

He may not have done anything wrong, but he hasn't done anything right either. If he wasn't a Liverpool legend you wouldn't be quite so easy on him. (Although if he wasn't a Liverpool legend perhaps I wouldn't be so harsh.)

Fowler is a Man City bench warmer. In fact an overweight Man City bench warmer. Man City must be delighted they got rid of Fatler and got a real player like Samaras in.

I can't understand why Rafa signed Fowler adding an inconsistent striker to a squad full of inconsistent strikers was a bit stupid.

Crouch: shite.

Cisse: ditto

Morientes: I'm surprised at how shite he has been, I hated it when you signed him cos I thought he'd do really well for you.

free transfer fowler though, wasnt as much of a gamble as people make out. would have been if we'd shelled out 5m on him....

no idea what is up with morientes, must be a confidence/adaptability thing, cos he is a great finisher on his day.
