Default cheyrou joins bordeaux on loan

Bordeaux have completed the signing of Liverpool midfielder Bruno Cheyrou on a season-long loan deal.

The French midfield man spent last season on loan at Marseille and will now remain in Ligue 1 for next term with Bordeaux.

Although the 27-year-old has again moved on loan, Bordeaux have the option of buying Cheyrou at the end of the season.

Cheyrou will join former Liverpool team-mate Vladimir Smicer at Stade Chaban-Delmas after he joined the French outfit from Anfield.

Former Lille man Cheyrou did not have the impact he was hoping for at Anfield after being signed by Gerard Houllier, and new boss Rafa Benitez obviously does not see him in his plans for the future.

Cheyrou is desperate to try and get back into the French squad for next year's World Cup, should they make the finals, and believes that a good season in France will enhance his chances

what a waste of £4m he was. he even had the cheek to wear white boots
