Chris Kirkland has joined West Brom on a season long loan.

Chris Kirkland has left Anfield for a season long loan with the Baggies as Jose Reina is set to become Rafa Benitez' first signing of the summer.

Kirkland's agent Chris Gordon said last night: "Chris feels Albion and the Premiership is the place to be.

"It is an exciting opportunity for him at Albion. They will get a top quality goalkeeper.

"He wants to show that he is fit again and is ready to establish himself in the Premiership and as an England player. The World Cup finals next year are very much in his mind.

"The medical will hold no fears for Chris. He feels fantastic and has real confidence in his back for the first time in ages."

he will need confidence in his back as there will be a lot of strain on it this season when he's either:

1. laying on a treatment table after picking up a strained wallet
or
2. playing regularly and picking the ball out of the net 4 times a match (1 of which will undoubtedly be through his own crapness)

i feel sorry for his dad and his mates, they put a **** load of money on him playing for england when he was like 10, it still aint happened yet

My dad (God rest his soul) was a huge Pool fan. I remember when Kirkland first came onto the scene and my dad was so excited by him. He used to say Seeman's days were numbered with this guy. What a shame. He must be so frustrated by the injuries!
